this is 2 people who may find other glider designs complicated may opt 2 bring paper airplanes too.... and actually ther is a 20% score boost 2 paper gliders.. due to their supposed handicap of being feeble and less suited 4 a competition... :) enjoy.. and happy flying..

Tools and materials that you need (not all are mandatory):
• Paper (a4 works best)
• Coroplast/sunpack (The plastic sheets that they put adverts on..)
• Scissors
• Sharp Knife
• Hot melt glue/glue gun
• Feviquik or its equivalent
• Cycle spokes or bamboo skewers
• Tape(cellotape works wonders)
• Imagination :D

Glide Fest 2012

Problem Statement
Make a glider that can fly in a straight line. You will be scored on both the distance covered (in some particular direction) and the amount of time it glides. You will be given three tries and your best score will be considered.

General Rules
• Registration will be on spot.
• Having fun is mandatory
• Any number of gliders is allowed per competitor.
• Fighting and cheating is not encouraged.
• Littering the venue may get you disqualified.

Glider Specification
“A glider is a heavier-than-air aircraft that is primarily intended for unpowered flight.”
• The glider should not be provided with any motive power (or thrust) by either electric or liquid/solid fuel. However rubber band powered or spring powered gliders are allowed.
• Make them as light as possible.
• Wingspan should be under 1.5m .
• Rocks, bullets or birds will not be considered as gliders.

Registration Fees and Prizes
Fees:
• Adults: Rs. 25
• Children: Rs. 15
• For each extra glider: Rs. 15
Prizes:
The one scoring the maximum points will be awarded with a cash prize. ( Rs. 15 * Total number gliders registered). There may also be a trophy for the best looking glider as chosen by all the participants.
