The 6th Kolkata Police Safe Drive Save Life Half Marathon 2026 was not only a race but also a powerful movement of citizens coming together for safer roads.

Flagged off by the Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, Shri Manoj Kumar Verma, IPS, the event stood as a shining example of leadership in action. He not only inaugurated the marathon but also ran the 21K, inspiring thousands, and later felicitated the winners, celebrating both achievement and commitment.

The event was graced by Hon'ble Mayor of Kolkata, Shri Firhad Hakim, Hon'ble Minister of Transport, Shri Snehasis Chakraborty; Hon’ble Member of Parliament Shri Deepak Adhikari; Actress Rukmini Maitra; Chess Grandmaster and Arjuna Awardee Shri Dibeyendu Barua; Actress Mimi Chakraborty; Actor Jitu Kamal, along with senior officers and distinguished guests, all united by the common cause of road safety.

Thousands of citizens took to the streets, each step echoing the message that every life matters. Every participant is now a brand ambassador of the Safe Drive, Save Life campaign, launched in 2016 by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, carrying its life-saving message into homes, streets, and hearts across the state.

Together, we ran not just for fitness but for responsibility, awareness and hope.

Today marked the unveiling of the Lead Car at the Netaji Indoor Stadium for the Kolkata Police SDSL Half Marathon 2026. The event was followed by an interaction session of the pacers with the Race Director, Additional Commissioner of Police, Shri Pandey Santosh, IPS.

During the meet, Race Director briefed the pacers on key aspects of tomorrow’s race and their critical role in ensuring its smooth and disciplined conduct. Race kits were also distributed to all pacers entrusted with this responsibility.

The Kolkata Police Safe Drive Save Life Half Marathon is set to take place this Sunday, 18th January 2026. The distribution of BIBs and Kits to participants commenced yesterday at the Netaji Indoor Stadium and will continue until 6:00 PM tomorrow, 17th January 2026. Yesterday, Ld. Commissioner of Police, Kolkata, Shri Manoj Kumar Verma, IPS collected his own BIB and Kit and interacted with other participants who had come to collect theirs. Here are some glimpses:
