MY academy helps you to get ARMEd (acronym for "All Ranges Martial Art Education" framework). Exper Liberation from systems is our ultimate goal. Get ARMEd...

Martial art training is a very personal endeavor for an individual. It amalgamates multiple training routines across the likes of Yoga, Calisthenics, Body Balancing, Strength Training, Sparring, Coordination, Speed and Stamina. Our intention is to stay open to the true spirit of martial arts and not get bound by any one established system of instructions. For us, an individual is more important th

Hello everyone, classes will resume from 16th Jan 2017, Monday. Please read details below...

👉 2 solid classes per week - Monday and Wednesday - 6 pm to 7 pm.

👉 Focussed stamina and strength-building drills will be additionally carried out during free weekend outdoors, typically 2 hours on Sunday mornings. My efforts will be there to conduct 'atleast' one such class per month.

👉 Since we are reopening after a brief break, all existing or earlier below-8 students are welcome to join back. However, no 'new' below-8 students can be accepted 'for now'.

NOW THE MOST IMPORTANT STUFF

👉 For above-8 trainees - Kindly join back ONLY IF you have ABSOLUTELY NO DOUBTS about working with me, in pushing your physical and mental faculties to the hilt, to achieve new heights month by month, and reach (or exceed) the blackbelt goals.

Let us break our toughness barriers this year.

Good luck...👍 Punching - Trapping - Kicking - Grappling - Using basic weapons....across All Fighting Ranges

"On-invite and filtered-entry only"

It has been about 2 months on a scheduled break for under-15 students as explained in my last post in September. Another month or so till we restart. The academy will resume regular classes then. However it will be with a few big differences. One of the major ones is..."ON-INVITE and filtered-entry". This approach is based on my observations over the weekend sessions for all, and weekly sessions for elders, that are continuing inside/outside of the academy premises, during this break period.

Allow me to explain in detail please...

The academy will only be interested in spending undivided time and energy with students who are dedicated to the underlying purpose of learning martial arts. This purpose is "self-development" and only that. It's about the 'You' in MY academy - motivate YOUrself, mobilise YOUrself, master YOUrself.

While we have a well-rounded practical curriculum, which derives the best and most practical methods from various systems, we do NOT have a name for what we teach. We just refer to it as - Getting ARMEd, as in 'Getting All ranges martial art education'.

Why no name? So that you do not DEPEND on a name.

Our curriculum is for those who are NOT chasing competitive medals or certificates or belts. It is for those who value the time and energy committed by the trainer and by the fellow trainees. It is for those who are willing to go all the way to the black belt, yet not be driven by any color. It is for those who will never give up trying whether they succeed or not, or whether anyone else tries or not. It is for those who will continue to beat all concerns inside of them.

This will be the filter criteria for the re-initiated batch with Old/New students.

I would thus like to have a focused batch of just 15 people or even lesser, with whom I would like to spend any further efforts on. As I have maintained over years gone by - I am interested in just a small number of genuinely committed fellows, who want to complete their journey.

If you consider yourself such, you shall be requested to rejoin over a personal note or a call. Once you get a message or call from me around that time that we are about to restart, you may or may not join back due to various reasons, but you would surely know that I hold your training and your journey in high regard.

My best...

We have made a major change in this 'exam + festive' period. Most of our students are nearing their black belt, early next year, and they are given a 3 month break from training to mentally and physically prepare for their evaluation.

This is not a typical break for them. Its just being away from the instructor, ie me. If they are able to keep themselves motivated enough for these 3 months and revise/train themselves, they will be able to do it for their lifetime; because getting black belt is not an end, rather a beginning is being self-reliant in many ways. After all, one will not have an instructor or an academy to train for a life-time.

To keep the momentum up, they are regularly invited for outdoor classes over weekends and made to go through tough drills, that involves running, rolling, kicking, punching, multiple attackers, grappling, boxing and many more.

A black belt is someone who will just not give up and will keep going, whatever the distance, whatever the drill...and that's what they should become, and that's what they are becoming over what I have observed over last two outdoor drills.

Daily classes for adults are continuing as usual.

04/09/2016

From this month onwards, we are conducting mandatory outdoor drills to build real endurance for our trainees. Today we had one such 1.5 hours session from 8 am.
Key highlights...
1. One mile run (best time 7 mins to kids time within 12.5 mins)
2. Front and Side Jumps over hurdles, with light run.
3. Burpees with hurdles, with light run.
4. Headrolls, with light run.
5. Headroll, punch, push-up, punch, with light run combination.
6. Crawl, run, crawl, run combinations.
7. Standing head-lock varieties against jab-cross attack.
8. Half-burpees.
9. Leg stretches and splits.
Great day. Lots of heart, especially from kids.

After last week's assessment, four of our students have been promoted to level 3 of our unique curriculum. All level 3 students will appear for their next assessment towards this year-end. Congratulations to these 4, as well as to other students at level 3, who had participated in the last assessment, in order to revise their skills. Getting stronger, faster, confident by each day...

Our current batches run from 6-7 PM and 7-8 PM, on Mon-Wed-Thu. We have mostly children and few elders in these batches; all getting stronger each day.

Starting August 17th, we are adding one more batch from 8-9 PM on Mon-Wed-Thu. This batch will be exclusively for elders who may have office constraints before that. This program will be focused on total body conditioning for executing combat methods at various ranges. A reasonable level of dedication & fitness will be a prerequisite for this exclusive group. Elders from earlier batches can also shift to this one, if they deem suitable.
