The Centre for Study of Social Exclusion & Inclusive Policy was granted by University Grants Commission, in the year 2009. The overall aim of the CSSEIP is to become a Centre of Excellence in the study of social exclusion and creating a cadre of scholars and activists in the area of social exclusion.CSSEIP is involved in conducting research, teaching, training and field action with various excluded communities.

Upcoming activity. All students of CSSEIP & teachers are visiting Jambhulpada, tribal area in Raigad district on September 24-25,2011 for exposure to tribal communities and to conduct Need Assessment Study of Tribal Communities. Students will also conduct Community Mapping exercise and on the second day will volunteer at the Medical Camp that is planned by several organisations with the help of Mumbai Doctors.
