It was a privilege to share forum with officers of National Skill Development Corporation and 4 state governments, 1 UT (Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Rajasthan, Daman&Diu ) , officers from departments of Regional Directorate Of Apprenticeship Training , Regional Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Apprenticeship Advisors of all states.

Special Thanks to Shri Shrinivas Rao Ji to lead and conduct the workshop so effectively in these 48 hours. 🙏

We are glad to finally kickstart skilling and livelihood campaigns for Marginalized community in Navi Mumbai collaborated with Ministry of Tribal affairs.

Bikash Sahoo, Co-founder was on full form addressing 50+ women despite the language barrier. Rightfully earned the tag from so many girls. Enabling the 1st generation for formal employment in these families is heartwarming to say the least.

The agenda also included distribution of resuable sanitary napkins along with a sensitization workshop for awareness by Fellow, Social Work - Sh*tal Salunke.

To top it off, we ended the summery day with a chilled *Gola Delight* 😋 in company of our dear fellow Saloni Godbole. The conversations with her were as refreshing as the delicacy shared. 😁

Celebrating Foundation Day of Odisha.

As EduMaan continues to work towards supporting livelihoods for Odisha working in MIDCs. We shed light on relevance of this day :-

The History Behind Odisha Day
History beckons that the present-day Odisha used to form a major portion of the ancient Kalinga. The region witnessed the epic “Kalinga War” led by King Ashoka who invaded and conquered the region in 260 BC. Later, the state was invaded and taken over by the Mughals till the British took over the administrative powers of the region and divided it into small units in 1803.
The western and northern districts became a part of the state of Bengal while the coastal region formed the basis of Bihar and Odisha (then known as Orissa). After decades of struggle under the leadership of Odisha’s eminent leaders, the new province came into existence on the 1st of April 1936. The state saw another facelift, now in terms of its name being changed from Orissa to Odisha.

I began conducting sessions on Business Model Canvas before I even graduated. Having helped countless startup founders to build their ideas from scratch while revisting the drawing board for my own startup, Lean Canvas has always been a handy tool.

I am grateful that I have successfully conducted 100+ workshops with several Institutes (including IIM, IITs) on just this topic.

Last weekend, I was grateful to be invited speaker and judge at Bizence 2022 , an annual startup fest hosted by SIES Graduate School Of Technology , Nerul.
It is always a pleasure to visit to my co-founder Bikash Sahoo sir's Alma matar to engage with the new lot each year since 2013.

Few ways to make these sessions better are:
1. Peer engagement before and during event. Peer group plays a very crucial role in encouraging as well as realigning ideas. Often teams are very self involved and only focused on their own pitch. There is very less attention paid to other pitches or feedback offered by judges. As my cofounder remarked, " Don't make a person present on stage if we ,as peers, can't be attentive and engaging in their pitches. If we can't respect our own classmates, how do we expect external world to treat our ideas with respect?".
2. A follow through by students taking up Internships in startups. The best way to learn how a startup functions is to intern during summer vacations. And what better way than to ask your speakers/jury members for connecting with startups who have opportunities in their organizations for Internships. Startup Founders are more than willing to absorb proactive and driven students.

Kudos to the entire energetic bunch of the E cell team of EDCGST and Dr Kaustubh sir for organising the event with such spirit and enthusiastic participation. I was accompanied by Mr Bhanu Pratap Singh alongside as jury member. It was a great experience in a college environment after 2 years of lockdown.

As the students throw their graduation caps in the air, they release their student avatars to graduate into work environment. Their eyes filled with dreams, looking up to the sky with gleaming hope. A fresh surge of energy is filled in the air. Such was the aura today at the Convocation day hosted by Magic Bus India Foundation.

to be invited as the chief guest alongside my cofounder Bikash Sahoo sir for such a landmark occasion. Witnessing students who could barely speak two words to introduce themselves at the beginning of the training to confident kids speaking about their interview and first job experiences was heartwarming.

These are all 12th pass students who had to enter the workforce due to financial constraints in their families due to covid, who have now secured jobs with organizations of 2-3 Lacs P.a CTC.
