17 years ago when my son was born and I became a mother I had to unlearn many things and relearn many more. I learned about boundaries and the power of saying “No.” I learned to trust my body and my mind.
In the process of keeping my children safe, I found a safe space within myself.
I finally understood the meaning of the phrase, “I will fight the world for you.”
And I understood nurturing in its truest form.
While taking care of them, I also began nurturing my inner child. The child who wanted to sing, dance, play, and express herself freely.
Who was I before the world told me who to be?
My children helped me rediscover that person.
And somewhere along the way, I became an educator, trainer, and speaker. I started Tiny Tribes because I wanted to build my own village — a space of connection, growth, and belonging.
It’s true when I say I was raised by my children too. And as they grow, I continue growing alongside them.
Being a mother is not just a role I play.
It is how I show up in every area of my life.
This video was taken at an early morning trek we did where my kids walked way ahead of me and I trudged along but they also stopped multiple times to check on me. Made me realise how the roles have reversed.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers everywhere. ❤️

A few months ago, I had the joy of spending time in the Welsh countryside with Sarah and Rachel founders of
Even though we have known each other since 2023, we met for the first time in-person at the train station where they picked me up from. I had an injured ankle, and Sarah patiently helped me navigate and drove me home. It didn’t feel like meeting a business partner. It felt like being welcomed by friends.
They opened their home so generously — full of books, music, animals, laughter, and wonderful food. Being there helped me understand why Pyjama Drama works so beautifully with children. The warmth, creativity and playfulness of the work clearly comes from the people behind it.
People often say work shouldn’t be personal, that you shouldn’t mix work and friendship. But I don’t know any other way. Almost my entire career has been spent working with women founders or in women-led teams. Today I lead a team of 7 incredible women (many of them moms), and that spirit is exactly why my company is called Tiny Tribes.
Because that’s what I’ve always been looking for — and building.
We even got some work done between long conversations and cups of tea :)
I can’t wait to host Sarah and Rachel in India soon — visiting schools, working with teachers, and introducing them to the beautiful chaos of India’s sounds, colours and stories.
