On this episode of Coffee & Conversations, I talk to Sanya about her journey from the tech world into the creative world. We discussed the challenges she faced, how she navigated those, and how she used the world of Instagram to her advantage in creating not just a professional brand but also a beautiful personal brand.
Watch the video through to the end for her invaluable insights into the field. You will want to sit with a notebook and take notes after this one. There's so much value. Plus we it's all happy and fun like the both of us :D (I say this after some of you mentioned we look liked twins :p)

Creating content is fun but it can also get overwhelming quite quickly, which is why having the right tools is super important. These are the apps that I use most frequently for creation bomb content and most of them are free:
1. : For all things design, stock images and stock videos as well as templates for posts and stories. It has a paid version for complete access but you can use the free version and buy individual premium elements if you don't want to pay a monthly fee.
2. #️⃣ Hashtags: One place to store and create all your hashtag sets. It tells you the number of posts each hashtag has to give you an overview of whether it'll work for your account or not.
3. : There is no other photo editing app that's better than this. Plus it syncs across platforms and devices making it easier for you to import, export and use photos with other apps and softwares.
4. and V-Mix: these apps have been life savers. I edit most videos (reels, IGTVs etc) on my phone thanks to these apps. And they have sooo many features in the free version. Love.
5. : The best tool I've come across for content planning and strategising plus keeping tab of your personal & professional goals.

How To Find Your Niche on Instagram in 2020 — Adete Dahiya There’s a lot of noise on social media. A lot of content, but very little content that makes an impact. Understanding your niche or picking a strict category can make all the difference between an account that succeeds and one that doesn’t.

To all the artists and creatives out there, never doubt your strength! It’s not easy to follow a creative pursuit in a world that is hell bent on labelling us and putting us into boxes. This quote by Henri Matisse – “Creativity takes courage” is up on my wall, reminding me of this every single day. It takes courage to stand up to every doubt, every fear that you’re going to make it. It takes courage to stand up to your loved ones, who may be holding you back without even knowing it. It takes courage to believe in yourself. It takes courage to take that first step into the unknown. It takes courage to keep creating, relentlessly without letting all those negative emotions creep back into your head. It takes courage. And for that, you are strong. ❤️.
P.S. Didn't intend for this edit to turn out like a poster, but I'm kind of liking the look. What do you think?

After seeing the online response to Adele's weight loss picture, I'm certain about one thing: no matter who you are or where you're at, people WILL judge you! So, what's the point of giving a damn?

On a more serious note though, relying on others' validation and perception of ourselves often leads to doubt, fear, and constantly second guessing ourselves. We forget to trust our gut, our learning and our principles when we rely too much on others. It becomes a vicious cycle. We fear judgement, yet we use it as a parameter for our decisions. Instead, we can start by reflecting on our own motivations and by being a little less critical of others.

Self reflection is one of the most powerful tools out there. It is the one thing that allows us to be truly honest with ourselves — our desires, our fears and everything that comes along with them. It helps us explore possibilities that we wouldn't have otherwise thought possible. I often resort to writing and meditating whenever I need to reflect upon something - thoughts, actions etc. How do you practice self reflection?

Is it really possible to be positive and happy all the time? Recently came across this term called "toxic positivity". You know that culture (mostly on the internet) that focus on over-emphasis of a happy and optimistic state and sort of invalidates negative feelings and emotions? Yeah that! Over time this "think positive" culture had gone quite overboard. I think a better approach would be to focus on acknowledging...both the negative and the positive. And then moving on to the next experience. Afterall neither of these last forever 🤷♀️. .

We will have two paths to choose from when this all ends — we can become more like the version of ourselves that we've always wanted to be, the kind of people we always hoped to be. We can become the people who no longer take this planet and all its joys for granted; people who are compassionate; people who are willing to look beyond their own selves. Or we can continue to stay the same, the way we've always been, taking in, using and abusing more than we need, more than is necessary..
I got the opportunity to learn about and become conscious about the environment at a young age because my school focused on this. I remember I was so passionate about saving water, and cleaning up our rivers, and protecting the forests. But somewhere down the line, this awareness got shadowed by a cloud of consumerism, vain desires and this innate desire to fit in. I had a voice in the back of my head, telling me to come back to that schoolgirl mindset and think about the impact of my actions. And I kept pushing that voice back, thinking "there's time to think about the environment, first let me focus on fulfilling my desires". And just like that, time came to a halt. Everything has been on a standstill, and the earth is telling us that our time is up. We can no longer take things for granted. And let's plan not to 🙏🙏🙏.
