Brotherhood can't be defined only experienced.Day by day our GUARDIAN family goes bigger and stronger, here is what another initiate turned patched member Jamie Lobo has to say about his experience being a GUARDIAN
It's the first of the month and an alarm rings in my head to message BABA, "Where are we going? When's the next ride? Who all have registered?". Apologies to BABA for bugging him at the start of every month.
I've been riding my bike for 6 months and I absolutely love every second I spend with it.
I come from a background where I've been told that riding a bike will eventually kill you. (Mom's dialogue: "The day you buy a bike, don't forget to buy a coffin.")
PASSION is something you don't get after a single ride. I feel it takes time to develop passion. I wasn't passionate about riding even after getting my bike. Then I was introduced to The Guardians Motorcycle Club.
I saw unity and the feeling of being ONE in all of them. PASSION for riding as well.
The first ride was to Anjarle Beach. When I met the riders for the first time, the first thing that struck a chord in me was the attitude of this bunch of riders. They all made it a point to come up to me and introduce themselves (P.S. I was a little shy to approach people.)
Fast forward to my third ride, which happened to be the anniversary ride and the ride where I would be accepted into the family.
3 riders from Bombay ride about 180 Kms to Pimpalgaon. Once we touched Malsej Ghats was when I realised the beauty that our own country and nature possesses. I had to forcefully stop BABA so that we could just see the view of the surroundings. As soon as we arrived at our destination, I was completely awed by the view around us. A complete 360 degree view of beauty. 30 minutes later the entire club arrived and united with the Mumbai chapter riders. We started off the meet by teasing and pulling each others legs, followed by a hug. We then sorted our rooms out and freshened up, had some chai and kickstarted with a game of cricket. This was followed by beer and then the pool party. And finally lunch.
I was eagerly awaiting the main anniversary celebration where each of us took turns to describe our experience with the Guardians.
What have I taken from my experience with The Guardians????
- Discipline
- Passion
- HUMILITY (IN CAPS)
- Leave your EGO at home when you come on a ride
Live like a Guardian.
Live Free. Ride Hard.
Don't forget to wear your helmet.
