Andharban Forest Trail

Andharban, by its name means a dark dense forest. It is a gradual descend trail, where you are already on height and you will descend till end. It is one of the most beautiful trails and lots of things to explore. We will be walking on a ridge offering an awesome view of the Kundalika Valley, Bhira dam and the mountain ranges of Tamhinighat. Evergreen forest covers you with shade in the first half of the trek (6-8 kms).The trek further descends down in Konkan to reach Bhira (4 kms).The same valley where is the origin of the Kundalika river famous for its river rafting

Schedule :
04:15 am - Reporting at Lokmanya Vachnalay, Navi peth.
(Bus will depart at 4.30 am sharp).
05:00 am - Pickup at Chandani Chowk
05:20 am - Pickup at Pirangut

*Reach Starting point, Start trek.
*Reach Hirdi village have lunch.
04:00 pm - Reach base, water fun in a stream
05:00 pm - Depart towards Pune. Tea on the way.
We will reach back to Pune around 8.30 pm.

Things to Carry :
Good Quality Rucksack & Shoes, ID card, 2 litres Water, Ready to eat snacks, Extra Clothes - compulsory, Towel, Protection from Rain, Personal Medicines, Odomos, Sunglasses, Camera, Polyethene bags to protect valuables from rain/water, Sandals/Fipflops (to use after trek).

Things to keep in mind :
Wear full pants, t-shirts, (chances of mosquito bites) avoid jeans, Carry extra - dry clothes, Strictly no ni****ne and no alcohol before, after and during trek, no one will leave the group for anything without informin group leader due to thick clouds there are lots of chances of missing, fees once paid will not refund or transfer to other for any reason.

*Itinerary :
Saturday 8 April meet @ 8.00 pm Swargate bus stand. Take bus for Katraj. Reach katraj, Introduction. Trek start @ 10.00. Tiffin break @ 1.00 am. Reach Sinhagad tentatively @ 7.00 am. on Sunday 9 April, have breakfast (Pohe) and tea/limbu sarbat then down to base village by jeep, take bus for Swargate. Reach before 11.00 am.

*Things to carry :
01) Very good quality trekking/sports shoes - compulsory
02) Water 3 ltrs. minimum per person - compulsory
03) Torch with extra batteries. (Mobile torch is useless if you love your mobile) - compulsory
04) One time Tiffin - compulsory,
05) Some extra snacks biscuits, fruits, chikki etc
06) Warm jacket/pullover to protect from chilly winds between the breaks - compulsory
07) Glucon C, D type energy drink powder.
08) Extra t-shirt, Napkin, toilet material.
09) Personal medicines/Knee caps/hiking pole
10) ID proof - compulsory
11) Covid Vaccination certificate - compulsory
12) Good ruck sack to hold all luggage - compulsory. No zolas or any other hand bags please.

*Instructions : (Mandatory to read & agree before participation)
• Have proper meal before the trek.
• Wear full pants, t-shirts, (shorts are not allowed) avoid jeans.
• Everyone should walk in group only, no one will leave the group for anything without informing group leader.
• We are taking regular halts between the trek so please keep walking and halt only where is suggested,
• Participants should bring an ID Card - hard copy.
• Below 18 must take the consent of the parents to participate.
• Avoid deodorant or perfume before and during the trek.
• Participants should pay for the expenses that are not mentioned in fee inclusions
• Alcohol/Smoking/Tobacco or any kind of intoxication is strictly prohibited. If anyone found, will not be in group from the next moment.
• Please do not litter; we commit to keep our events clean.
• Participants should maintain discipline, and stay together as a team during the event.
• Please do not expect any luxury facilities, stick to the basics is our motto.
• Appreciate being co-operative with fellow members
• Though we assure safety as a top priority, Sahyadri Leopards team will not be responsible for any loss, theft, accidents, injuries and any fatal events.
• If there is an unexpected change in weather or any other situations during the event, the organizer has the right to withdraw/ retreat.
