VCC vs. Stricker Wolvers, 10th League match
Winning the toss, VCC elected to Bat first with the hope of putting up a big score on board. Manish and Sagar started on a cautious note rotating strike and picking the off boundary. The wicket was a bit slow paced with the ball not coming to the bat easily. With Sagar getting out quickly, Kalpesh and Manish started to build the partnership moving the score to 59 in the 9th over. Manish playing patiently found his much needed form and struck a few l***y blows around square leg.
Shekar joined Manish once Kalpesh got out and continued his attacking game with a big 6 and 4 scoring 17 runs quickly. VCC scoring briskly 98 in 13 overs...the next few overs saw VCC losing wickets in quick succession...Shekar, Manish, Viv and Rahul...Manish after a well crafted 62....VCC now at 124 /6.
Then came in the much needed innings from Mayur....a smart and sensible 34 with the support of Varad , Tarun and the lower order taking the overall score to a respectable 179.
Bowling
Varad ripped through the opposition opener off the very first ball...well supported by Tarun taking a low catch at point...Rahul ably supported by maintaining a disciplined line outside off and was finally rewarded with his first wicket for VCC. Varad continued his relentless attack and trapped the No. 3 batter plumb in front of the wicket.
Vishnu being brought into the attack early this match, showed his craftiness and astute game sense by beating the batter first 3 balls and induced a mis hit in the 4th...and Rahul taking an unbelievable high catch out of no where at square leg... brilliant catch, showed a lot of commitment.
Viresh and Vishnu continued in tandem and Vishnu delivering the much practiced doosras bagged 2 more wickets in his 2nd over...SW tottereing at 42/6...
Viresh scalped one his next over and paved the way for Tarun to come into bowl.
And what a iconic spell by Tarun today ... starting off in a disciplined manner, he maintained his line outside off stump with 3 dot balls. And the next 3 balls.. a bowled, a caught behind and then LBW.. HATTRICK...whoo.. dream spell .... fabulous. Everyone erupt in joy...SW allout for 44.
Fielding
Brilliant catching by Rahul at square leg... converting an almost impossible chance...
Tarun taking the low catch at point.
Kalpesh losing sight of the ball, but recovering quickly and taking the catch that popped above the line of sight. Also a neat low catch during power play.
A big big thanks to Amogh for allowing his quota of overs to be delivered by other team mates... Magnanimous and selfless act.
Player of the match - Manish for his solid 62.
VCC become table toppers of the T25 tournament, almost qualifying for the Finals.

VCC vs. Shivneri, 10th League match
One memorable thrilling match for VCC , with numerous twists and turns that will be remembered and cherished for a long long time.
Playing against the top team of this tournament (Shivneri), VCC planned their team combination with the right balance of fast bowlers, spinners , batters and big hitters....
Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Shivneri openers started off on a cautious note. Varad started his attack maintaining a steady line outside off and was rewarded with an LBW in his 2nd over. Ankush Gera started off with a similar line and started to build pressure on the batters. A few full length deliveries thereon saw the Shivneri batters capitalise them and scoring freely and reached 53 in 5 overs. Rahul started bowling well from the other end and well supported by Viresh....however the run flow continued...Shivneri 82/1 after 9 overs.
Offspinner maestro Vishnu struck in his very first over breaking the big partnership...much needed for VCC. Amogh started well and soon was rewarded with the wicket of the dangerous opener in his 2nd over and took one more in the same over..double wicket. Shivneri now 103/4.
Vishnu continued his teasing line and trapped the next batter and Amogh outsmarted the next batter...Shivneri now 115/6.
As the spin duo completed their 5 over spell, and a few runs leaked, they ensured taking another 2 wickets, a piece each.
Mayur stepped in thereon, weaved a beautiful spell, dismissing the bottom 2 batters ,
wrapped up Shivneri batting at 163 in 22 overs.
Fielding
Rahul - Brilliant catching by Rahul at deep cover boundary taking a running low catch. Fab display of Commitment and brilliance.
Varad, Sagar - Calm and composed Long on / long off catches
Viv - Dropped a fast catch at cover by going one handed.
Gera - let go of a boundary after covering lots of ground at straight long off.
Rahul - missed out stopping a boundary at mid wicket.
Manish - lightning flash stumping...reminded us of MsD...goose bumps...Mr. Flash of VCC.
Batting
Ameet Dravid continued his calm approach opening the innings and picked his boundaries smartly...Viresh and Manish got out early too. Early set back for VCC ...36/3 in 6 overs.
And then the much needed partnership of the match bloomed. Shekhar playing only his 2nd match of the tournament started off on a attacking approach, punishing the bad deliveries over the fence....he hammered 19 runs of one over with 3 4s and a huge 6. Viv playing a supportive role anchored well, continued to pick up regular boundaries with a big 6 over cow corner. The duo rotated strike well and VCC reach 105 in 15 overs. Need 60 in 60.
Unfortunately both Viv (29) and Shekhar (49) perished in quick succession .
With 60 needed off 60, Mayur and Rahul started to rebuild the partnership scoring run a ball. Rahul smacking a big 6 over mid wicket.
Soon VCC need 27 off 24...nervousness all around, tension in the air...and Mayur scores a handsome 4 over cover. Rahul goes for a biggie and is caught at cow corner. Need 21 off 18. Pressure back on VCC.
In comes VCCs big boy, Punjabi Munda Ankush Gera...after settling in with 2 3 singles , he reads the spinner's flighted ball, steps out and tonks a huge 6 over cow corner. And repeats the same again, this time straight behind the bowler. VCC reach the target with 2 overs to spare.
Happiness, excitement and smiles all around the VCC camp ...team work throughout, everyone played their role and stood up to the occasion.
Being a Giant is one, being a Giant Killer is a different level altogether 😉.
Player of the match - Amogh for 4 wickets.
VCC one win away from entering the finals of the T25 tournament.

VCC vs. Phoenix fighters , 8th League Match, Wadki Virag Ground.
The 2nd time VCC playing vs. Phoenix Fighters (PF) in this tournament .
Winning the toss, PF elected to Bat and started their innings on a cautious note. Arunav and Varad start off with their disciplined attack outside offstump...Arunav strikes with his trademark yorker in his 2nd over and bowls the opening batter. Next ball, he induces the batter to a mistime hit swirling high high up at gully area, wherein Sanket running backwards takes an outstanding catch... unbelievable.
Varad maintains his disciplined line and is unpalyable...a maiden over. Rahul Redhu on the other end continued his bowling attack relentlessly.
The next batting pair of PF starts steadying the batting slowly and then Amogh strikes...teases the batter and Kalpesh stumps him. PF 48/3.
Harsha and Amogh bowl in tandem and keep picking wickets at regular intervals. A sudden flick by batter towards square leg, and Kalpesh sprints behind it, picks up and throws...and Ameet Dr collects the balls and runs out the batter. Brilliant team work. PF 75/8.
Viv and Manish take a bold decision of trying new comers Mari and Sachin... unfortunately this decision didn't pay off and the tail enders ended up adding another 70 runs, setting a tricky target of 157 for VCC to chase.
VCC openers Sanket and Ameet Dr start off cautiously . Sanket was at his technical best, cover drives, lofted shots, bullet square cut shots...he was in a different zone all together...VCC crusing at 67 in 10 overs. Sanket misreads a low full toss and gets trapped LBW after a smart 46. Ameet Dr playing patiently scores a couple of brisk boundaries and eventually holes out a skier after a solid 28. New player Arjun continued to score smartly on other end and starts rebuilding the partnership with Kalpesh...Kalpesh continues his form from last match, scores a breezy 31 off 25, with a big 6 at square and 2 delightful classy square cuts to the fence.
VCC cruise home smoothly in the 22nd over and registering their 5th win of the tournament and swiftly climbing up to the 2nd spot in the tournament points table.
Fielding
Starting with the Brilliant catching by Sanket and 2 3 great diving attempts, Rahul calmly taking 2 catches and Kalpesh terrific keeping behind the stumps... terrific fielding efforts. We did have some mistake fieldings and drop catches...but overall held on to the key moments.
Clinical finish, solid team work, commitment in the field, and partnerships...today's story.

VCC vs Bunkers ..May 2, 2026. T25 Tournament.
Another dominating win for Team VCC.
Winning the toss and electing to Bat first, VCC lost both their openers (Manish and Sanket) in quick succession. Kalpesh and Viv start to build the much needed partnership..when Kalpesh, misjudging a single, gets run out..VCC 32/3 in 5 overs.
Mayur joins Viv in the middle, and together score briskly to add 45 runs within the next 5 overs.
Viv looking solid and determined with 5 4s and a 6, end up misreading a dipping yorker and gets trapped LBW at 34. Rahul and Vishnu get out quickly and VCC struggling at 83/6. Arunav steps in and plays a calm innings of 17 inclusive of a huge massive 6. New comer Manoj also scores a quick 20. All along, Mayur continues to stay put, hold on to his wicket, scores a smart 50 and ensures VCC cruise to 199 in the 25th over with able support from Tarhun on the other end.
Bowling:
Aru scalps wicket off the very 1 first ball of his spell and Rahul supports him by taking a splendid running catch at wide Mid off. Aru and Rahul R continue their attack in red hot form, bounce and pace. Manoj chips in with 2 Good overs.
Vishnu, bowls smartly varying the pace and spin, takes 2 quick wickets and Amogh on the other hand keeps things tight, a bit unlucky today without a wicket.
At one point, when runs started leaking, Viv steps in and take a hard hit caught and bowled one handed and sends off the well set opening batter.
Mayur bowls a sharp spell and takes 2. Tarhun and Mari wrap up the bowling with tidy spells. Kudos to Kalpesh for excellent keeping behind the stumps...
VCC win comfortably with over 50 runs , reaching 3rd position in the points table. 💪🏽
Fielding:
1. Manish stopping a boundary at wide Mid on with some Maradona footwork 😋
2. Arunav's dive at Mid off stopping a hard hitting shot from going to 4
3. Rahul's never give up attitude running atleast 15 yards to pouch the catch at wide Mid off.
4. Viv repeating his single handed pick up and direct hit at the stumps
5. Sanket's dive at gully attempting for a impossible catch....though Sanket had an unusual off day with this fielding 😃
6. Kalpesh's solid keeping stopping some of the leg side deliveries as well.
7. Amogh's running stop at sweeper boundary...
Every effort matters and its these small moments that add up to make a big difference...Kudos 👏🏼👏🏼

VCC vs. Bunkers, April 11 2026. T25, 2026.
Quite an unusual game today, but worth remembering.
Opponents Bunkers won the toss and opted to Bat first, something that VCC were eyeing to do as well.
Varad opened the bowling attack with seaming outswing deliveries beating the batsmen multiple times.
Sagar , new joiner in VCC bowled in tandem, kept a disciplined line moving the ball away from the right handed batters...and was rewarded with a wicket on his 4th delivery.
Varad continued his disciplined line and lengths and trapped the No. 3 batter lbw in front of the wicket...
Sagar maintained his teasing line and got the Opponent captain hole out at cover wherein Varad took a determined catch that walent quite high in the air...
Varad continued his intensity and picked one more in his 3rd over. Bunkers 33/4.
Rahul Redhu, new player resuming cricket after his college days , bowled superbly maintaining a strict line outside offstump.
Vishnu, bowling the last over of power play did waste any time and quickly scalped 2 more wickets with his guile and deceptive bowling. He was supported by Viv, who took one brilliant one handed catch at cover diving full length...
Ashwin , bit out of rythym initially brought back his angular off spin and got his wicket. Mayur cleaned up the last 2. Bunkers folded within a small total of 67.
Batting - Despite a couple of early wickets, Laksh continued his trademark style of composed batting and scored a smart 27 off 23.
Viv & Mayur pitched in with much needed double digit contributions and VCC wrapped up the match comfortably in the 9th over.

An excellent all-round performance today by Team VCC.
Starting from the first bowled taken by Arunav, Varad's disciplined bowling , we were able to start making inroads into the opponents batting.
Vishnu and Amogh bowled superbly .... Vishnu picking 3 wickets with his brilliant variation and Amogh deceiving the batters and taking the 2 key wickets of the big hitting batters...controlled bowling by Shubham K and Dravid sir helped us restrict the score to 179.
The batting phase was a memorable one today....Dravid sir revealed his inner beast (andar ka shaitaan) and unleashed a power packer 57 off just 37...
Laksh, the new comer stylish batter provided much needed sensible innings scoring a smart and we'll constructed 50. Another blinder and fast paced innings by Manish propelling him to reach 5000 career runs and a 30 ball 50 and enabling VCC cruise towards the target with ease and comfort....
Overall great team work 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

2026, T25 Tournament.
League match 2. Vs. Phoenix
First win for VCC today in this 2026 T25 tournament..
What a fabulous game of cricket it was today... match swinging both ways right until the end.
Sagar M (external players) starting off cautiously and scoring some handsome boundaries followed by a big six ..
Sanket playing a matured anchoring innings of 42, with Viv making a quick 33...and putting 100 runs on board in 15 overs...and a batting collapse thereon....
And then comes the miracle... a well crafted matured and class innings from Ajju (41) and a absolutely calm supporting innings by Amogh (12)....batting right till the 25th over and taking us across the much needed 170 mark.
Bowling :
Viresh provided the much needed inroads bamboozling the openers...Arunav bowled his heart heart out and was a bit unlucky....so was Amogh.
Ajju bowled a superb spell taking 3 crucial wickets ..Tarhun ably supported him and snapped 2 quick wickets as well. Amogh returned and picked one more...
With only one wicket remaining, and 38 required of last 6, it looked like a cake walk for VCC....that when there was a shocker...No. 11 batter castled 3 quick 6s bringing down the equation in favour of batters...and then the run out by Rahul and Manish.... unbelievable, buy true ...VCC truly pulls victory from the jaws of defeat....KUDOS to the each and everyone...memorable day indeed 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

After a heavy rainfall on Thursday, all of us were a bit worried of the after effects on the key Saturday match vs. Mavericks...
Winning the Toss, Viresh Nyati opted to bowl first...a crucial toss to win.
Vicky and Dubai return Azhar 😀 started off in tandem. Vicky bowling steady line forces the opener to edge one to keeper Saurabh Joshi ...one down. Azhar starts cautiously and bowls an unplayable inswing and castles of Mantu (Mavericks top order batter)🔥....
Vicky comes back in his 2nd over and forces Mavericks key batter Bhushan to playing an uppish drive towards Long on where Ankit ensures he pouches it safely 🙏.
Vicky castles another batter with an inswinging beauty...Fast and swing bowling display at its best. 🔥🔥🔥
Mavericks middle order consolidates and is able to play sensibly and pull the score to 71 when Vishwin strikes with Joshi stumping ☝🏽
Mayur Mistry and Vivek Vasudevan bowl hard lengths but are unable to make further in roads. Mavericks inch to 100+ when Shubham strikes and bowls a lovely spell of 3 overs.
Viresh and Vishwin come back and clean up the lower oder with their smart bowling and without leaking any runs. Mavericks put up a below par total of 128 on board of the allotted 25 overs.
VCC batting starts off with a flyer...Ashwin and Ankit Vernekar are in their elements with both scoring freely..🥳
Ashwin's flashy game and Ankit's class in action. .Ankit is ruthless and tonks 2 huge 6s into the stands...💪🏽💪🏽
Ashwin holes out at Mid wicket soon and Josh joins the party to take VCC to 60+ in 8 overs. Misunderstanding between Joshi and Ankit results in Joshi's run out, who was looking quite determined and was scoring well.
VCC's middle order Sanket, Ankit Raj, Raka and Vishnu try to maintain calm and slowly take the score near 100. And then Viv and Shubham wrap up the chase in a cool and calm way..and Viv scores the winning run with a Dilscoop shotw with 7 overs to spare.
Overall complete control and domination by VCC throughout to win against a top Team. A day to remember. 🫡

What an amazing victory to start with
VCC beats Golden Eagles
Wow
To start with in the absence of Viv Raka accepting tht role along with Manish was a super gesture
Santy and
Saurabh started off well with little hick ups but he made sure new balls looses it's newness
Santy continued his super knock of 89 disturbing their prime bowlers including Manav from Mavricks
Sanket got a good ball rapped on his pads
Since power play was on Pratik went in
He started off well looking promising
But
His best came out when ultimatum was given of last 12 balls
Pratik then switched gears and didn't stop till end assuring a super 50 knock
Rakesh and Manish showed maturity by making him play which helped team to get more runs on board
Rakesh s 3 sixes and Manishs boundary made VCC cross 200 mark and tht little cushion which we required against Golden Eagles was achieved
Bowling department was well started as usual by Dr Sandeep sir and Vicky
Viresh chipped in power play to open gates of wickets taking lefty batsman clean bowled Akash ( another non vcc member) bowled good line and lenght
Another batsman was gone of akash s bowling in covers where Viresh simply took a blinder diving catch
Then came our trum card bowler Amogh starting with a wicket in every over he bolwed
Amogh frustrated Golden Eagles power hitters
Mayur bowled well in tantum
Soon when we thought match is in our control with 50 balls 90 runs to win there came Golden s hard hitter who was taking the game away
None of our prime bowlers were able to get him
Soon there was a 30 balls 42 runs required situation clearly in favor of opponents
Super run out by Akash and Manish gave us opening again
Amogh again gave us the much needed wicket completing his quota of overs for 4 wickets
Dr Sandeep sir gave us the crucial wicket where in Golden were 8 down now
Mayur showed confidence and delivered a beautiful pressure over
Viresh with penultimate over
Finished their batting line up
In last 5 overs game turned in VCC cs favor mainly because of wicket keeper Manish runs out and close keeping catches
And credit to all death over bowlers
Few key points of improvements
Fielding positions for lefty and Righty according to bowlers choice could have been quick
We took more than our time to complete our quota of overs
We r slowly becoming a team who can handle pressure situations and coming out to be Victorious
