Rohit bamboozles batsmen; Musaif, Pundir score fifties, Abid, Vanshaj impress
JAMMU, Aug 9: After taking an impressive 5-wicket haul in the first innings, Rohit Sharma once again displayed superb fast bowling skills and bamboozled batsmen to capture 4 wickets in the second essay, making it 9 wickets in the match, while Musaif Ajaz and Shubham Pundir showed stellar grit and tenacity to notch up big fifties and the duo of left-arm spinners Abid Mushtaq and Vanshaj Sharma impressed today in the ongoing Senior Men's Multi-Day Tournament at Country Cricket Stadium Gharota and Jammu University ground, here.
This 'Cricket for Peace' Tournament, is being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA).
At Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, JKCA Team A1 scripted an outright victory over JKCA A5 by 9 wickets.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 34/3, JKCA A5 bundled out for 112 runs in 28.2 overs in their second innings, thus setting a victory target of 28 runs for JKCA A1. Skipper Abdul Samad (24) and Sunil Kumar (23) were the main contributors. Speedster Rohit Sharma and left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq took 4 wickets each.
JKCA A1 chased the target easily in 7 overs, losing 1 wicket in the process, thus won the match by 9 wickets.
At Jammu University ground, JKCA A2 was declared winner over JKCA A4 by virtue of first innings lead.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 211/6, JKCA A2 added just six more runs to the total to bundle out for 217 runs in their first innings in reply to JKCA A4's total of 141 runs in first innings. Ashank Singh added just 2 runs to his overnight individual score to make 63 runs, while Govind added 1-run to be dismissed on 50 runs. Sahil Lotra was the pick of the bowlers who took 6 wickets by conceding 75 runs, while Vanshaj Sharma bagged 3 and Aman claimed one.
JKCA A4 scored 253 runs in the second innings to set a target of 170 runs for JKCA A2. Musaif Ajaz top scored with power-packed 86 runs while skipper Shubham Pundir scored brilliant 79 runs.
For JKCA A2, Fast bowler Yudhveer Singh was the pick of the bowlers who took 4 wickets by conceding 40 runs, while skipper Ramdayal claimed 2 wickets.
Chasing a target of 170 runs in 40 overs in the second innings, JKCA A2 were 74/4 in 19 overs when rain stopped play. Samarpit Raina (33) and Abhishant Bakshi unbeaten 25 runs were the main scorers. For JKCA B4, Vanshaj took 3 wickets by conceding 8 runs, while Usman claimed one.
This was the last event of historic Talent Hunt 2022 followed by a series of tournaments spread over for three long months. The final match of this Sr Men's Multi-Day Tournament is scheduled to be played at SK Stadium Srinagar from August 16 to August 18, 2022.

Sungri Premier league 2022 was started at Sangam Stadium Sungri on 13-feb-2022.
In which Total number of 16 teams participated. Final of which is played today on 06th of March 2022 between Sungri vs Sun Riser Kotli.
SR Kotli won the toss and set a target of 156 in 20 overs. In which Vineek Jamwal and Honey Singh Score 38 and 37 respectively and 12 year Sunil bowled a brilliant spell of 4 over 13 runs and 3 wkts while Arif and Charan Kumar takes 2 wkts each. While Chasing Sungri Chase the total in 19.2 over, in which Yasin Malik score a brilliant 38 in just 28 balls while Ravi Singh and Mushtaq Malik played a brilliant cameo of 24(13balls) and 22(8 balls).
Winner and Runner up teams are awarded with cash prize and trophies.
Winner team Captain Bikram Partap Singh thanks all the crowd who was supporting the team.

At last Chief Guest Mr. Krishan Singh and Guest of honour Mr Ragbir Singh congratulate both the teams. The tournament was organised by Mr Ravi Singh and Prince Rajput.

Ian Dev Singh led J&K Ranji Team leaves for Chennai
J&K Ranji Trophy Team led by Ian Dev Singh was given a rousing send off by the Management at Pavilion Building, JKCA Complex Jammu. As has been reported earlier BCCI has decided to start the Ranji Trophy Championship 2021-22 which had been suspended earlier due to Covid-19. As per instructions by BCCI, the teams have been divided into 8 Elite Groups and one Plate Group. Each Elite Group comprises of 4 teams and Plate group comprises of 6 teams. J&K team forms part of Elite Group C and will be competing with Karnataka, Railways and Puducherry. The League phase will begin at Chennai from 10th February, 2022 and finish on 15th March, 2022. One team from each Elite group will qualify for the Quarter Finals while the lowest ranking qualified among the Elite Groups will have to play a pre quarter final match with the winner of the Plate Group. Brig. Anil Gupta, Member Administration and Mr. Sunil Sethi, Member Legal Affairs, addressed the members of the team and motivated them to put their best efforts so that J&K can qualify for the Quarter Finals. Keeping in view the extreme hot weather at Chennai, the management has taken a decision to dispatch the team to Chennai 4 days in advance so that the players can acclimatize and practice on the wickets therein. The team will leave for Chennai tomorrow i.e. 06th February, 2022. The team comprises of Ian Dev Singh (Captain), Abdul Samad (VC), Qamran Iqbal, Suryansh Raina, Parvez Rasool, Shubham Pundir, Fazil Rashid (WK), Henan Malik, Abid Mushtaq, Ram Dayal, Auqib Nabi, Umar Nazir, Umran Malik, Rohit Sharma, Mujtaba Yousuf, Jatin Wadhawan, Shivansh Sharma, Sahil Lotra, Akash Choudhary, Taizeem Tak, Yudhvir Singh Charak. Team India (Senior Men) – Update
The All-India Senior Selection Committee has added Mayank Agarwal to India’s ODI squad after seven members, including three players of Team India (Senior Men) tested positive for COVID-19 following three rounds of RT-PCR testing.
The members were asked to report in Ahmedabad on 31st January 2022 for the upcoming Paytm three-match ODI and T20I series against the West Indies. Every member was also asked to undergo an RT-PCR test at home before embarking on their journey to Ahmedabad and the travel was undertaken only after testing negative.
The detailed updates are as below:
1) Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan and fast bowler Navdeep Saini’s (standby player) RT-PCR tests conducted on Monday (January 31st) have returned positive results.
2) Fielding Coach T. Dilip and Security Liaison Officer B. Lokesh’s RT-PCR tests conducted on Monday (January 31st) have returned positive results.
3) Batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad’s RT-PCR test conducted on Tuesday (February 1st) has returned a positive result. He had tested negative during the first round of testing on Monday.
4) Batsman Shreyas Iyer and Sports Massage Therapist Rajeev Kumar’s RT-PCR tests conducted on Wednesday (February 2nd) have returned positive results. Both had tested negative in the first two rounds of testing.
The BCCI Medical team is handling the positive cases and they will remain in isolation till complete recovery is attained.
Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami have been rested from the series.
KL Rahul will be available from 2nd ODI onwards.
R Jadeja is undergoing his final stage of recovery post his knee injury and will not be available for the ODIs and T20Is.
Axar Patel will be available for the T20Is.
The All-India Senior Selection Committee has picked an 18-member squad for the upcoming Paytm ODI and T20I series against the West Indies.
