*South Kashmir: Gunfight breaks out in Beighpora*

Srinagar, May 06: After lengthy searches finally gunfight breaks out between militants and goverment forces in Beighpora area of Awantipora in South Kashmir's Pulwama district on Wednesday.

Reports reaching said that a joint team of Police, army's 55 RR and CRPF launched cordon search operation Beighpora during night hours.

As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering an encounter.

A senior police officer also confirmed to about the exchange of firing between forces and militants. As per the sources two to three militants believed to be trapped.

Pertinently this is second encounter in Awantipora in Span of eight hours. (GNS)

👉Jammu and Kashmir police have arrested a youth for posting a communal comment on Facebook in Ramban district.

👉The accused has been identified as Rattan Singh, a resident of a ward number 3 of Summber village.

👉SSP Ramban, Haseeb ur Rehman told that the accused has been arrested for hurting the religious sentiments of a community.

👉A case under FIR no. 06/2020 under sections 295A and 153 A has been registered at police station Dharamkund in Ramban district against the accused.

👉He said the accused was arrested in Udhampur after police followed a specific input.

👉The police officer said the Facebook comment, a screenshot of which was shared widely on WhatsApp, had caused communal tension in some areas of Summber.

*Khrew encounter: Militant killed, operation on*



Pulwama, May 06 ): A militant has been killed in an going encounter between government forces and militants in Shaar Shali village of Khrew area in South Kashmir's Pulwama district during intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

A senior police official told that a militant have been killed adding that operation is still on in the area.

He said that operation which halted during night resumed on Wednesday morning after evacuation of all civilians to safer places.

Earlier an official said that on specific inputs about the presence of militants cordon and search operation was launched in the area by joint team of forces including 50 RR, CRPF and Awantipora Police

As forces zeroed in towards suspected spot, hiding militants fired upon forces which was retaliated, triggering an encounter, he said—(KNO)

*Brief exchange of firing in Khrew, searches on*

*Another search operation underway in Beighpora*

Srinagar, May 06: A nocturnal brief exchange of firing took place between militants and goverment forces in Sharsali area of Khrew in Southern part of Awantipora in Pulwama district on Wednesday.

Reports reaching said that a joint team of army's 50RR, 185 BN of CRPF and police launched cordon and search operation in Sharsali area of Khrew.

Official sources told that during cordon and search operation brief exchange of firing took place between militants and government forces. However as of now, no fresh exchange of firing has been reported.

Official sources further said that we have tightened the cordon around the suspected spot and are facilitating the evacuation of civilian in and around the encounter site.

With the first appearance of light in morning, operation will be resumed at the encounter site.

Meanwhile massive search operation is underway in Beighpora area of Awantipora which is the native village of top Hizb commander Riyaz Naikoo. More details will follow.

___Reports regarding of Riyaz Naikoo (HM commander) are fake. Cordon and search operation is going on in Beighpora Pulwama area but no exchange of fire has been reported.
