🇸🇳 Sadio Mané is investing around $20 million into a big project in his hometown of Bambali, Senegal.
The former Liverpool forward’s project, SM10 Agro is aimed at developing local mango processing while creating opportunities for the community.
The project is expected to include a 500-hectare farm, and is expected to create more than 1,000 direct jobs in the region.
Mané said, “I want the wealth of our soil to remain here with us in Senegal. I want the young people and women of my region to have real opportunities for education. Transport and delivery services for SM10 Agro will indirectly create extra jobs as well.”
This is the latest part of Mané’s long-running work in Senegal, having previously donated large sums to the country’s COVID-19 response and helped fund a public hospital in Bambali, which includes maternity care.
