Authors Biography
Shirish is a fitness enthusiast and has been doing weight training exercises for last many years.
like all enthusiastic and upcoming bodybuilders, his goal was also to develop a great physique and maximize his gains from weight training exercises.
After having interacted closely with various trainers in the gym, his curiosity about weight training exercises led him to fulfill his desire of obtaining more knowledge about weight training.
In the year 2015, he obtained his FITNESS TRAINER CERTIFICATION form INTERNATIONAL SPORTS SCIENCE ASSOCIATION.
In the year 2016 he set up his own gym in the name of ‘WE SHAPE GYMNASIYAM’ having a logo of ‘shape your body into v shape’.
The tremendous response to his gym and his training style led him to obtain the certification of BODYBUILDING SPECIALIST from INTERNATIONAL SPORTS SCIENCE ASSOCIATION. in the year 2018. and certification of FITNESS NUTRITION SPECIALIST in the year 2018 from INTERNATIONAL SPORTS SCIENCE ASSOCIATION.
The regular discussions and interaction with the gym members and trainers made him realize that there is a lot of misunderstanding and misconception about weight training exercises in the minds of the general public and even advanced bodybuilders.
He, therefore, felt that the valuable and tremendous knowledge acquired by him through the certification courses of INTERNATIONAL SPORTS SCIENCE ASSOCIATION should reach to all those who are interested in doing or starting weight training exercise.
This is a humble effort by the author to educate the masses in simple words about weight training exercises through this book.

This has been a topic of hot debate over the last many years.
The overall impression is that cardiovascular training is ultimate for weight loss or fat loss.
Due to this misconception and misunderstanding about weight training, a high percentage of the population is deprived of weight training benefits.
Another misunderstanding about weight training is that it should not be done by ladies .if they do their bodies will immediately or ultimately become muscular.
Therefore the popular scenario in most of the gym is that the cardio section is full of ladies and middle-aged gents.
However, the fact is that weight training exercises are best for weight loss and fat loss.
Wight training Exercise not only reduces calories but they help in increasing a person’s metabolism. Which is most essential for fat loss as well as weight loss.
As far as the young boys among whom weight training is favorite, they fall into two categories.
The first category is that of young persons who have never gone to a gym and are shy of going to a gym or unaware of weight training exercises.
Whenever they join a gym they are taught exercises by the gym trainers for the first few days and later on left on their own due to
i. Lack of time with the trainer as there are many members
ii. Due to a lack of knowledge beyond basic.
iii. Or they are more interested in providing personal training which many cannot simply afford.
The other category is that of people who are seasoned weight training exercisers doing it for some time.
Those people are stuck up as they are not making progress beyond a certain point.
They simply do not know from whom to seek information as the trainers in their gym themselves may not have adequate knowledge. In fact, many trainers are not qualified.

There may be conflicting views by different persons
The information on the internet is flooded with technical jargon giving technical names of muscles etc. with which the common man is not conversant.
The fact proved by studies and research has shown that weight training is safe and most beneficial for people of all ages irrespective of their age and gender if done properly.
Cardiovascular exercise is simpler to execute than weight training exercises. Once or twice a person runs a machine and he can master or the art of doing it.
Is cardio more popular due to this factor?
Then the age-old principle comes into play.
‘No pain no gain’.
Weight training really scores over cardio on this ground.
