Last night we celebrated the end of the 2026 Field Gun season. Great company, fantastic food and drinks, and the opportunity to thank our sponsors for their incredible support while recognising the outstanding achievements of our crew with our end of season awards.

No.1 Trainer, Chris Hastings, announced this year’s Crew Awards, recognising the hard work, dedication and team spirit shown throughout the season:

Congratulations to all of our winners. These awards are a testament to your commitment, determination and contribution to the team, and each one is thoroughly deserved.

The evening also gave us the chance to say goodbye to two valued members of the crew, Nicole Baker and Nik Frankfurt. Thank you both for your dedication, your enthusiasm in recruiting and motivating the crew, and the exceptional commitment you brought to the track season after season. We wish you every success in the future and hope to see you back on the track again one day.

An emotional day yesterday, as I stepped out on the track for the final time as Number 1 Trainer for JFC Naples Field Gun Crew.

What a ride the last 3 years have been!!

The endless laughs, the occasional tears, countless hours on the track, and even more in the pub. From victory to defeat, celebration to heartbreak, we’ve been through it all, together.

It has been the most genuine privilege, and one I could not possibly have hoped to achieve without the unwavering help and support of the my Number 2, the Field Gun Committee, the support teams, and of course my incredible wife whose always been there by my side, but most of all, the crews themselves. The strength, courage and resilience they show day in day out, year in year out, never wavering in the face of injury or hardship, pushing the limits for themselves and eachother is the Field Gun Spirit which makes this the greatest competition in the world. Thank you for putting your trust in me to keep you safe and help you to achieve your potential. I am incredibly proud of every one of you, and the things we’ve achieved together.

Final Day at HMS Collingwood.

Three hard fought heats saw JFC Naples earn a place in the Plate 2 Final, bringing another incredible Field Gun season to a close.

While we did not bring home any silverware this year, we once again won something just as special, the respect and hearts of the other crews. That is what makes the Field Gun community so unique. The passion for the sport is matched only by the camaraderie between crews, and that spirit was on display throughout the competition.

To everyone who came out to support us, thank you. We heard every cheer, every shout, and every word of encouragement. Your support drove us on when it mattered most, and we could not be more grateful.

We stand tall and proud of everything this crew has achieved. The hard work, commitment, resilience, and team spirit shown throughout the season have been second to none. We will take those memories, lessons, and friendships forward as we look ahead to the next challenge.

Thank you to every member of the wider Field Gun community for another fantastic season. We will see you all again next year.

In a few short hours, the tracks of HMS Collingwood will once again be alive with the thunder of 18 Field Gun Crews competing for glory in the 2026 Brickwoods Field Gun Competition.

Run safe out there everybody, 18 as 1, out back and home safe.

Nothing beats taking the crew down to the Solent for a swim.

Cool, refreshing water, salty sea air, plenty of laughs, and the perfect way to make the most of a beautiful day. Sometimes the best adventures are the simplest ones.

Another strong day for the Crew yesterday, with the judges watching closely as JFC Naples delivered clean, disciplined runs and continued to build momentum.

The team’s commitment, professionalism, and attention to detail are showing in every performance. Confidence is growing, standards remain high, and the hard work continues to pay off.

The day started in the rain, but finished in the sunshine—and the Crew matched the weather by getting stronger as the day went on.

JFC Naples continues to make excellent progress, with the team showing resilience, determination, and a real drive to improve with every run. Spirits are high, confidence is growing, and the hard work is paying off.
