European Draughts Confederation (EDC) was founded in 1998 in Tallinn Estonia. EDC is the part of World Draughts Federation (FMJD)

The 26th European Youth Championship has officially begun in Tallinn, Estonia, and will run until 9 August.
The championship features ten competition categories (Hopes, Minicadets, Cadets, Juniors and Under 27, both Girls and Open), three disciplines (Classic, Rapid and Blitz), with 90 individual titles, 6 team titles, and approximately 300 medals to be awarded.
The Opening Ceremony, held on Saturday 1 August, featured speeches by Tarmo Tulva, President of the Estonian Draughts Federation and EDC Vice President; Janek Mäggi, President of the FMJD; Carlo Bordini, President of the EDC; Johan Demasure, EDC Vice President and TD Youth; and Magda Pawłowska, Main Referee of the championship, FMJD TD Youth and EDC Board member.

In his address, President Bordini expressed his sincere gratitude to all the participating national federations, the coaches, the families accompanying the young players, and especially to the Estonian Draughts Federation for the excellent organisation of the event. He also paid tribute to the many volunteers and referees whose dedication made the championship possible.
He concluded with a message to all the young participants:
“Give your very best, because that is the real challenge… and above all, have fun!”

The Opening Ceremony concluded with an artistic performance with dance and music, celebrating the host country’s culture.

The European Youth Championship is now underway. We wish all participants fair play, unforgettable experiences, and the very best of success!

Grigorij Getmanski won the European Championship of Draughts-64 (Brazilian) 🥇. Second place went to Aleksej Domchev 🇱🇹🥈, while Matvey Koliesnikov 🇺🇦🥉 finished third.

In the women’s competition, Olena Korotka 🇺🇦🥇 claimed the title, followed by Yuliia Makarenkova 🇺🇦🥈 as runner-up, and Agne Lizdene 🇱🇹🥉 in third place.

The Main Referee, Denijs Vilhelms Krauklis 🇱🇻, together with Renzo Rubele 🇮🇹, greatly contributed to the successful management of the tournament.

Carlo Bordini, President of the EDC, and Vice President and Tournament Director Tarmo Tulva presented the prizes.
