European Draughts Confederation

EDC biennal General Assembly. Four hours in which after the evaluation of the status (very good) of the Confederation, it has been shared thoughts, friendship, network and a sense of true democracy and participation for the good and the future of the Draughts. Thanks to all the Federations who made this moment so important and profitable.

👉 The second day of the European Youth Championships has concluded, with other two rounds scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2025.

📌 After three rounds, in the Junior Boys/Open group Matas Sketrrskas (Lithuania) and Sytze Spijker (Netherlands) lead the standing. Through the Junior Girls three players in head: Patrycja Tomczak (Poland), Myja Plestyte (Lithuania) and Aiste Pukstaite (Lithuania).

📍Leading the standings with full points are: Malvine Misane (Latvia) in the Women's Cadets, Lev Poretskyi (Ukraine) in the Men's Cadets, Benas Mendelis (Lithuania) in the Men's Mini-Cadets, and Wojciech Mroczek (Poland) in the Men's Hopes.

📌 In the Women's Hopes category, Wiktoria Bednarek (Poland) and Anna Biruma (Latvia) lead the way with full points.

📌 The 25th edition of the European Draughts Championships for under-19s in Chianciano Terme (August 1-9, 2025) will see the participation of over 220 participants from 12 European nations, aged 9 to 19, divided into four groups (Hopes, Mini-Cadets, Cadets, Juniors, or Hopes, Mini-Cadets, Cadets, and Juniors), with an "open" tournament and a women's-only competition. The game is "international draughts," a specialty played on a 100-square board.

📌 The third day is scheduled for Sunday, August 3rd at 9:00 a.m. with fourth round.

European Youth Championship 2025 Under the auspices of the European Draughts Confederation (EDC), Italian Draughts Federation (FID) will organize the 25th European Youth Championship Boys and Girls Juniors, Cadets, Mini Cadets, Hopes Classic, Rapid and Blitz Chianciano Terme, Italy - 1st – 9th August 2025

Brussels. Alexander Shvartsmn 🥇🇮🇱 is the European Rapid Champions 2015; 2nd Guntis Valneris 🥈🇱🇻; 3rd Jitse Slump 🥉🇳🇱; Natalia Sadowska is the European Women Rapid Champion 🥇🇵🇱; runner up Anastasiia Glushko 🥈🇺🇦 and third Viktoriya Motrichko 🥉🇺🇦.
Guntis Valneris 🥇🇱🇻 is the European Blitz Champion; silver medal for Jitse Slump 🥈🇳🇱; bronze medal for Kevin Machtelink 🥉🇫🇷. Among the Women the Title Blitz goes to Zoja Golibeva medaglia 🥇🇱🇻; 2nd place to Marta Bankowska 🥈🇵🇱; 3rd place for Viktoriya Motrichko 🥉🇺🇦.

Kemer (Antalya, Turkey), 12th and 13th April. Enes Habilaj (ITA) 🥇is the new European Champions of Rapid Under 27; runner up of Boys Balynt Ambrozy (HUN), third place for Barnabas Kollner (HUN). Kateryna Musiienko (UKR) 🥇won the Rapid Title of Girls Under 27, followed by Sofia Pandolfo (ITA) and Krisztina Draguner.

Andrew Tjon A Ong (NED, 60+) 🥇won the EC Rapids of Veterans, Anton Schotanus (NED) runner up and the best of 80+; third place for Frank Teer (NED) the best of 70+; Romualda Shidlauskiene won the Title of Women and Renzo Rubele (ITA) that of 50+.

Kateryna Musiienko (UKR) 🥇 won the Europena Championship Under 27 Blitz; Sofia Pandolfo (Ita) runner up; Dora Kollner (HUN) third of women; Enes Habilaj (ITA) 🥇 won the Title of Boys, followed by Barnabas Kollner (HUN).
Through the Veterans the results was very balanced for a group of four leader with same points and same results between them and the final standings needed a decision of Jury d’Appel. Andrew Tjon A Ong (NED, 60+) 🥇 won; Viktor Gorobets (UKR) second place, Anton Kosior (NED) third. Frank Teer (NED) won the title of 70+, Romualda Shidlauskiene was the best between the Women and Renzo Rubele (ITA) as 50+.
