For me - Leadership Isn’t a Title — It’s an Attitude and a Behavior
We often talk about leadership as if it lives in job descriptions, hierarchies, or org charts. But the longer I work with teams and leaders across cultures, the clearer it becomes.

Leadership is not a role you’re given. It’s a way you choose to show up. It starts with attitude — the internal stance you take toward people and challenges:
• Curiosity over certainty
• Responsibility over blame
• Possibility over limitation
• Service over ego

And it becomes real through behavior — the everyday actions people feel:
• Listening with presence
• Asking questions that unlock thinking*
• Modelling integrity, even when it’s inconvenient
• Creating safety so others can grow

When leadership is defined this way, it becomes accessible to everyone. Not just the loudest voice. Not just the person with the title. Anyone willing to show up with intention, courage, and humanity.

Leadership is attitude in motion. Behavior with purpose. Impact without needing authority.

Imagine what our organisations could become if more people embraced leadership this way

Solution Based Coaching

I joined the gym!

On October the 10th of my book “Daily Coaching Questions”, it probably the only time in my book I used a closed question – ‘Are you committed to making changes?’ – which gives a yes or a no answer; it would be followed on with an open question like – ‘what are you going to do then to commit to those changes?’ - if someone says yes – or 'what is stopping you?' - if someone says no.

These two questions (‘Are you committed to making changes? What are you going to do then to commit to those changes?) are very important to me now, so it’s time for self-coaching on how I am going to commit to the changes of joining the gym, especially tomorrow when I get up and probably will not be able to walk very well!

The question, “Are you committed to making changes" is probably one of the most important questions to ask, when anybody is making changes in their lives. The question supports solution-based coaching which can be transformative.

We just moved - countries! - from Switzerland to Italy. Moving can be stressful, but I follow my own "rules" of mindfulness, staying positive and remembering what I can and cannot control!
There are still boxes to unpack, not many, but still some...but one day at a time...

Why we need feedback

Feedback is essential for our growth and improvement. It helps us understand our strengths and areas for improvement, enabling us to adjust, learn new skills and achieve better results.
It helps us find clarity and alignment, so what happens if we don’t get it?

What happens if a manager / leader does not help us get that clarity and alignment we need?.
It causes confusion and misunderstandings; it can reduce performance and kick off low motivation and engagement levels. It also reduces creativity.

How did you feel the last time you were given feedback?

Thanks to those that taught and supported me!

Having published my book, I was thinking about the content and where I learnt, or collected my knowledge, so a huge thanks has to go to Faurecia now FORVIA because I worked there for 16 years and it really was (is) a great company to learn from.

I learnt about 5S, change management, continuous improvement and problem solving just to name a few tools. Also, I had great support from a lot of managers there like Paul Drummond, PHILIPPE VARLET, Thilo Ludewig, Patrick KOLLER and Jean-Pierre Sounillac just to mention a few.

I worked across many countries and with many fantastic people (far too many to mention, but thanks to you all!), so thank you for supporting me on my journey of learning, that brought me to write my book!

We cannot control everything and letting go of the things we can’t control is paramount to our health and mental health.
Check out my post.

#coaching #positivity | Karen Mancini I really practice this on a daily basis. It’s a part of being mindful and staying positive. We HAVE to let go of things that we can’t control, as it just adds extra stress in our lives, that we do not need! Also being in a stressful states is terrible for our health and mental health. In 2026 pl...
