** Academic/Curricular **
* All academic, performing arts and athletic programs have been maintained and, in many cases, expanded during my time as a school board member.

* Dual enrollment was expanded every year to provide parents and students an opportunity to earn college credit at a reduced rate while in high school. The dual enrollment program has grown by 200% during my time as a school board member. Increasing classes from 8 to 24 classes.

*Advanced Placement classes have expanded consistently to provide parents and students an opportunity to earn college credit as well as providing students with a rigorous and nationally accepted academic experience. Increasing from 12 to 19 classes. Southern Regional will now cover the cost for ALL Advanced Placement tests for our students.

*Added a Barrens to Beaches class to provide an educational program related to the local ecology

*Added a Marine Trades vocational program to reflect the needs of the local community and provide job related training for students.

* Added a United States Law and Society class that provides an educational program emphasizing both Civics Education and Legal Education for High School students.

* Studies have consistently demonstrated that students who are connected to school beyond the school day are more likely to achieve at a higher academic level. To maximize this impact the district has continued to expand both our athletic program and our extracurricular program.

*Operating Budget*

*Saves in excess of $3.5 million through shared services and shared purchasing with other schools, municipalities and Ocean County.

*Over the past fifteen years the budget has increased an average of 0.7% per year, which is 75% lower than the rate of inflation during that same period.

*Our administrators supervise more students per administrator than all but one other regional school district in the state of NJ. Our administrators supervise more teachers per administrator than all but two other regional school districts in the State of NJ. Our administrator's average salary is lower than the average administrator's salary in the state of NJ.

*Southern Regional commits a larger portion of our budget to classroom instruction than any other regional school district in Ocean County and the second largest percentage in Ocean and Monmouth Counties.

* Debt*
The Southern Regional School District has NO outstanding debt or leases. One of only four districts in Ocean County to be debt free.

So proud to be a part of the Southern Family.

Southern ... tax levy
* Under cap for 6 consecutive years and 7 of the past 8 years.
* Over the past 6 years the district has refused to raise $2.9 million dollars of taxes that the state of NJ formula calculated as "necessary". This has saved taxpayers 6% on their Regional School Tax bill.
* Second lowest school tax rate in mainland Ocean County ( behind Toms River)
