I’ve been thinking about summer lately.
I do not mean the calendar version of summer, just the real-life version, the one where suddenly everyone’s diary fills up. There are invitations, BBQs, beach trips, visitors, long evenings, things we feel we should do because the weather is nice. I sometimes find it a bit overwhelming 😩
During those really hot days recently, everyone seemed to be racing outside to make the most of it. Meanwhile, I was sitting on my veranda with a glass of water, hiding from the heat because otherwise I’d end up with a headache.
It made me realise how easy it is to get swept along by the energy around us instead of asking ourselves what we actually need.
I think that’s one of the reasons I love marking the Summer Solstice. Not that it’s mystical or the Universe suddenly changes overnight. It gives us yet another reason to pause for a moment and ask ourselves:
How do I want to spend this season?
What do I want more of?
What can I let go of?
What matters enough to give my time and energy to?
Our energy is such a mysterious thing, and while I absolutely love practising on my own, there is something different that happens when a group of people come together with a shared intention.
You’ve probably felt it in classes before. The space feels different, people breathe in unison, there is a sense that for an hour or two we stop being lots of separate individuals carrying our own worries and to-do lists, and become part of something bigger.
I’ve been blown away by how many of you want to come together for our Summer Solstice Yoga evening. It makes my heart very happy. The thought of all of us on the beach, moving, breathing, reflecting, laughing, watching the sea, and stepping into summer together feels incredibly special.
Of course, we will not all have the same intention, we will be bringing all of those intentions together in one place! THAT feels like a pretty powerful thing.

We finally have our sun back for beach yoga this Sunday! ☀️🌊 After a few false starts thanks to the weather, I’m so happy that we can finally roll out our mats on Gorey Long Beach this Sunday at 11am and enjoy yoga with sea views once again with crew!
There is something so special about practising by the water. The fresh sea air, the sound of the waves, the warmth of the sun on your skin and the soft sand under your feet all help the body and mind unwind in a way that feels effortless. We move a little slower, breathe a little deeper and leave feeling light, calm and more connected.
This will be a gentle practice suitable for all, time to stretch, breathe, move your body, enjoy nature and give yourself an hour of feel-good vibes by the sea 🌊
No need to book, just show up!

RECOVERY - NON-NEGOTIABLE!
Have you ever noticed how good we are at doing the hard part?
We show up for training. We go for the run. We lift the weights. We power through work. We look after everyone else. We keep moving.
Then, when it comes to recovery, we often treat it as something we will get around to later (or even better - “I’ll recover whilst I sleep”).
I’ve been thinking about this a lot recently.
The body doesn’t become stronger whilst we are exercising, in the actual process. The body becomes stronger afterwards, when it has the chance to absorb, repair and integrate what we have asked of it.
The same is true in life.
Sometimes what we need is a little more space, not another challenge or next goal! A little less rushing, a chance to breathe more deeply, to soften the grip we have been holding on to without even realising.
That’s the intention behind tomorrow’s MyoYin workshop: “Restore and Recharge: MyoYin for Active Bodies”. Not to push, achieve, or leave feeling like you’ve completed another workout.
Leave feeling different, lighter in your body, quieter in your mind, a little more like yourself again.
We will spend the evening unwinding tension that accumulates in all the places that tend to carry the load of modern life. The spine that has held you upright all week. The neck and shoulders that creep towards the ears when life gets busy. The chest that sometimes forgets how spacious breathing can feel.
This MyoYin will be gentler and more restorative than some of the previous sessions. Think less “work” and more “ahhhhhh...” 😌
The kind of practice where you arrive carrying the week and leave feeling as though you’ve put some of it down.
A couple of spaces have unexpectedly become available due to cancellations and, out of both June workshops, these are now the ONLY remaining spaces.
If your body is quietly whispering, “please can we have a pause?” I’d listen.

One word keeps coming back to me this summer:
❤️ COMMUNITY ❤️
Not followers or numbers. Real people.
The conversations before class, the laughs during class, the reflections afterwards, the messages in between, the support when life feels heavy and the celebrations when life feels light.
Looking around lately, I feel incredibly grateful for the community we are creating together. Every class, workshop, beach practice and random chat adds another thread to something that feels very special.
As we move towards the Summer Solstice, I’m reflecting on how precious these summer days really are and how important it is not to rush through them.

Whilst Scott .temple_ is recovering from his injury, I’m taking everything into my own hands this week, Zen & Motion goes on, and we are going to have FUN 🤸♀️
For the first 30 minutes, expect a strong, playful core-focused yoga session designed to wake up your deep abdominal muscles, improve stability and balance, support posture, protect the lower back and help you move through life feeling stronger and more supported 💪
Core work is about so much more than abs - it’s your centre, your support system, your strength for everyday movement and longevity! And yes, there may be some shaking, laughing and “oh wow I can FEEL this” moments involved 🤪🔥
Then we will slow it all down with a mellow, grounding yoga flow to stretch and release everything we have worked on — opening through the front body, softening tightness, breathing deeply and finishing with soothing relaxation and meditation 🌿✨
