Spartan Health Club Announces Closure Due To COVID 19

Spartan Health Club wishes to announce that, in the best interests of our members and our staff and as part of the national effort to slow the spread of the Corona Virus, the Club will be closed temporarily. We anticipate a closure of weeks and not months. An indication from the Government that the spread of the virus is being contained and the availability of supplies of protective products such as hand sanitizers and disinfectants will be signals for the reopening of the Club.

A major factor in the decision taken to close the Club is the poor state of the public transportation system and the dependence of staff and some members on its usage.

Gym Closure Due To COVID 19

Dear Member,
It is with great regret that we inform you that it has been decided that it is in the best interests of our members and our staff that the Club be closed temporarily (we anticipate weeks and not months) as part of the national effort to slow the spread of the Corona Virus. An indication from the Government that the spread of the virus is being contained and the availability of supplies of protective products (hand sanitizers, disinfectants etc.) will be signals for the reopening of the Club.
As you may have noticed many measures are being put in place to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus in the gym including the following:

*Stepped up cleaning of the equipment by staff (4 times daily)
*Hands free utilities in the bathroom
*Availability of hand sanitizers at front desk (when stocks are available)
*Suspension of group aerobic classes.

Also, cannisters of disinfectant wipes have been purchased and will be available for purchase at a concessionary price to our members. This weekend a plan to relocate the cardio machines to the aerobic room, which would allow greater space between users of the machines, open windows and the free flow of air was aborted and instead the decision to close the Club was taken.

A freeze will be placed on all active gym memberships and lost time added on when the gym reopens. We look forward to a resumption of operations at the earliest possible time.
