Making a guitar - Heel-less joint.

I worked on shaping the heel-less joint. The effort of spending the entire day on this task paid off with a great result. That marks the end of the major woodworking; all that remains is a final sanding of the entire piece.

セットネック接着後、一晩待ってからヒールレス加工を行いました。一日中作業を行ったおかげで良い結果が得られました。大きな木工はこれで全て終わりです。あとは徹底的にファイナルサンディングを行なってから塗装に入ります。

Making a guitar - Curved Back Contour.

I finished the contouring. After applying the binding, I thoroughly removed the 120-grit scratches from the entire surface using 240-grit sandpaper. The shading looks good, so there shouldn't be any issues.

カーブバックコンターを仕上げてからバインディングを巻き、240番のペーパーで120番のスクラッチを徹底的に消しました。陰影が良い感じに出ているので多分問題ないと思います。

Making a guitar - Curve Top.

I am rounding off the edges of the stepped body top to create a smooth curve. At first glance, the curve looks smooth, but there are some unnatural spots when you touch it, so I’ll gradually sand it down to achieve a perfect finish.

階段状に加工したボディトップの角を落として滑らかなカーブに加工しています。一見 滑らかなカーブに見えますが指でなぞると不自然な箇所があるので、この後 サンディングで完璧なカーブに仕上げます。

I started working on the curved top. First, I cut it into a stepped shape using a template.

カーブトップの加工を始めました。最初に1mm位の高さの階段状に加工しました。この後 徐々に角を落として滑らかなカーブに加工します。

Making a guitar - Neck joint.

I successfully finished the neck joint work. The fit was quite tight at first, so I adjusted it until it was neither too tight nor too loose.

無事にネックジョイントの加工を終えました。当初 かなりタイトなフィット感でしたが、キツくもなく緩くもないちょうど良いフット感に調整しました。

Making a guitar - Neck.

I am making the neck. For the fretboard and headstock veneer, I selected the blackest pieces of ebony I own. The position markers are made of mother-of-pearl. It’s a very simple design, yet I think it has a sense of luxury.

ネックを作ってます。指板とヘッドの突板はうちのストックで一番黒いものを選びました。ポジションマークは白蝶貝。シンプルだけどとても高級感のあるデザインだと思います。

Repair Complete!

The truss rod replacement repair is finally complete. The woodworking itself finished quickly, but I left it to sit for about two weeks to see how it would hold up before painting. The neck movement is perfect. It functions completely ideally.

HOSCO's stainless steel frets are specified as HV300, but during processing, they felt slightly harder than HV300 frets from other manufacturers. However, I have absolutely no complaints about the sound; in fact, I like them because they offer excellent value for money.

I had to redo a nut because I cut the groove too deep for the first time in a while. Because of that, the delivery was delayed by a week. I still have a lot to learn.


トラスロッド入れ替え修理がやっと完成しました。木工自体は早く終わりましたが、2週間程度放置して様子を見てから塗装しました。ネックの動きに関してはパーフェクトです。完全に理想的に機能しています。

HOSCOのステンレスフレットはスペックではHV300ですが加工時に他のメーカーのHV300よりも多少硬く感じました。しかしサウンド的には全く不満はなく、むしろコストパフォーマンスがとても良いので気に入りました。

そして最後の最後、久しぶりにナットの溝を深くカットし過ぎてやり直しをしました。そのせいで納品が1週間遅くなってしまいました。まだまだ修行が足りません、精進します！！！
