On 19-Apr-2023 KRC will host a training run as follows: The course starts from Kyoto Imperial Palace, Nakadachiuri Gomon Gate running south alongside the Palace, heading east, north east passing Kamogawa river at Marutamachi bridge, passing Heian Shrine, towards Kyoto Zoo to your left, up to Nanzenji temple and shrine complex, further up then running north on the Philosopher's path up zo Ginkakuji, west towards Demachiyanagi running over Kamo bridge heading towardsSokokuji and from there back to the start point at Kyoto Imperial Palace. Today, KRC members, local expats Joshua, Ellen, Chris and visiting member James from Australia met for an early intervall training. This week is mostly a recovery week of sorts, hence the plan was 6 x 400 m in 1:30 min, so 3:45 min/km / 6:00 min/mile pace. We started with a 2,50 km jogging as a warm up, followed by a decent amount of stretching and drills before we took on the repeats....

A decent, fresh spring morning here in Kyoto at the Imperial Palace at 05:45 am, delivering perfect conditions for this short workout. After the usual warm up of about 2,50 km, followed by stretching and drills, Joshua and visiting member Ellen Hermle from Germany, a former German U19 state champion for the 1500 and 3000m, performed well. Planned were 10 x 300 in 60" with 75" break....
