The goal of "Kajukenbo Okayama" is to spread knowledge of Kajukenbo in the Okayama, Japan, area. Kajukenbo is a mixed martial art that was established in Hawaii in 1947. The name "Kajukenbo" is an acronym for the main arts of the original founders:
Ka: Karate
Ju: Jiu-jutsu and Judo
Ken: Kenpo
Bo: Western Boxing and Chinese "Boxing" (also known as Kung Fu)
The original art's main focus was self-defense, so if a technique worked it was included in the system. The techniques were then field tested by the founders, who were in the military and worked as either military police or bouncers and security. Nowadays, in true Hawaiian fashion, Kajukenbo practitioners also integrate other styles into their training, and as a result it's not odd to see elements of styles like Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-jutsu, Krav Maga, or Escrima.
