At Kaptabuk West Pokot County games

20/06/2026

Talau Mixed Secondary School has continued to make Siyoi Ward proud through outstanding performances in co-curricular activities. This term, the Talau Boys Football Team made history by reaching the County Games semi-finals at Kaptabuk, showcasing determination, discipline, and teamwork against some of the strongest schools in the county. Earlier, the Talau Girls Handball Team also carried the ward's flag high by reaching the County Games semi-finals at Nasokol, proving that talent and hard work continue to thrive within our school.

These achievements are not only victories for Talau Mixed Secondary School but also a source of pride for the entire Siyoi Ward. Reaching the county semi-finals in two different disciplines within a short period is a remarkable accomplishment that demonstrates the potential of our young people when given the necessary support and encouragement. The players, coaches, teachers, and parents who contributed to these successes deserve recognition for their dedication and commitment.

We therefore respectfully appeal to the current Member of County Assembly (MCA) for Siyoi Ward to recognize and reward both the Talau Boys Football Team and the Talau Girls Handball Team for their exemplary performance. Such recognition would motivate the students, inspire other learners to pursue excellence in sports, and affirm the county leadership's commitment to nurturing youth talent. Celebrating these achievements today will encourage even greater success for Siyoi Ward in the years to come.

A HISTORIC JOURNEY FOR TALAU BOYS FOOTBALL TEAM

The journey may have ended at the semi-final stage, but what Talau Mixed Senior School football boys achieved this season will remain a proud chapter in the school's history. The team fought bravely against Chepkono in a highly competitive semi-final match that was decided through a penalty shootout. Despite the loss, the boys displayed determination, discipline, and exceptional teamwork throughout the competition.

Reaching the semi-finals was no ordinary achievement. It marked the school's first appearance at this stage in over two and a half decades, a milestone that many generations of students, teachers, and supporters had long hoped to witness. The team revived a dream and inspired the entire Talau community with their remarkable performance.

From the zonal competitions to the sub-county games, the boys demonstrated resilience and courage, overcoming strong opponents and proving that Talau can compete with the very best. Their commitment on and off the field earned them admiration and respect from supporters and rivals alike.

Although the penalty shootout against Chepkono did not go in our favor, the result does not erase the success of this memorable campaign. Every player, coach, teacher, parent, and supporter played a role in making this historic journey possible. The experience gained from this season will serve as a strong foundation for future success.

We congratulate the team for making history and for carrying the Talau flag high. Heads up, champions—this is not the end but the beginning of a new era. Next year, we shall return stronger, wiser, and even more determined to achieve greater heights. The future is bright for Talau football.Thank you, Talau Boys, for the memories and the history you have made. ⚽🏆👏
