Some of our team members had the opportunity to participate in a beach clean-up activity organized by CWID at Nyali Beach, in collaboration with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), community organizations, youth groups and beach operators. The event aimed to raise awareness on climate action and the urgent need to preserve our coastal environment by reducing plastic pollution and promoting collective responsibility for cleaner, safer beaches.

After three months of intensive training and skills development, the Recovery Waves Initiative Cohort 1 successfully graduated from the program. It was an honor to witness 25 participants benefit from mentorship programs and 10 participants complete swimming sessions. With the support of Swahilipot Hub Foundation, this journey has been impactful. Now, the participants will advance to vocational training at Vision Empowerment Training Institute, pursuing careers in hospitality and maritime. This milestone marks a transformative step toward economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods.

Our participants actively engaged in the Financial Literacy discussion, gaining practical skills in budgeting, saving and responsible financial planning. The session emphasized the importance of financial independence, goal setting and smart investment strategies.
