CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe has officially announced a new AFCON format, marking a major shift in African football’s calendar.
Key updates:
The Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will now be held every FOUR years, starting after the 2028 edition.
CAF will also introduce the African Nations League in 2029, giving national teams more regular and competitive matches.
