Fellow Manchester United Fans Kenya,
Before we board those vehicles and begin our journey to Nakuru, allow me to ask you for just a few minutes.
Forget the jerseys for a moment.
Forget the banners.
Forget football.
Just think about a child.
A child who did not choose the circumstances they were born into.
Now imagine being their parent.
Imagine waking up every morning knowing that your child needs more attention, more care, more patience and sometimes more resources than you can afford.
Imagine the appointments.
The therapies.
The sleepless nights.
The financial pressure.
And then imagine coming home exhausted and still having to smile for your child.
That is a journey many families with special children walk every single day β a journey most of us will never fully understand.
And sometimes, the hardest part is not even the condition itself.
It is the feeling of being forgotten.
That is why our visit to Pangani Special School must mean something more than a charity event.
We are going there to see them.
Not as statistics.
Not as charity cases.
Not as children to feel sorry for.
But as children.
Children with names.
Children with smiles.
Children with personalities.
Children with dreams.
Children who deserve the same dignity, love and opportunities as every other child.
Perhaps, for a few hours, we can give them something money cannot buy:
The feeling that they belong.
When we walk through those gates, every smile, handshake and hug should be a privilege.
Because we are not just giving them something.
They are giving us something too.
They remind us to appreciate the things we often take for granted β the ability to walk, speak, run, wake up healthy and simply live our ordinary lives.
Manchester United gave us something we never expected from football β a family.
Next Month, that family has an opportunity to become something even bigger:
A family that gives back.
We may not have millions. We may not be able to solve every problem at the school.
But we have something powerful:
Our presence.
Our compassion.
Our willingness to care.
And our willingness to act.
Maybe our contribution will buy something the school desperately needs.
Maybe our visit will brighten a child's day.
Maybe a parent will quietly say, βAt least somebody remembers us.β
If we can achieve even that, then this journey will have been worth every kilometre.
So when we leave Nakuru, don't measure our success by the photographs we took or the amount of money we carried.
Measure it by the lives we touched.
The smiles we created.
And whether we made someone feel seen, valued and loved.
Some victories don't come with trophies.
Some victories don't happen inside Old Trafford.
Some victories are quiet.
They happen when a child smiles.
When a parent finds a little hope.
When someone who has felt forgotten realises that people still care.
That is the victory we are travelling for.
So, fellow Manchester United Fans Kenya, let us go to Nakuru not merely as fans of a football club.
Let us go as human beings.
Let us go with open hearts.
Let us give without expecting.
Let us listen.
Let us embrace.
Let us laugh with these children.
Let us make memories.
And most importantly...
Let us remind them that they are not forgotten.
Because football brought us together.
But humanity is what gives our togetherness meaning.
Forever United!β€οΈ
