He was one of just 13 athletes from 10 nations worldwide for the NFL International Player Pathway Class of 2026. Congratulations Joshua. An Eagle has landed. Kenya has an NFL player.

The Kenya Federation of American Football (KFAF) is pleased to share that our Vice President and Competition Director recently participated in a significant multi-stakeholder meeting alongside Commonwealth games CDM official and representatives of the Lacrosse Federation of Kenya.

The meeting centred on the development landscape for new and emerging sports in Kenya, a conversation that is both timely and critical for federations like KFAF that are building from the ground up while navigating the structures of national sport governance.

Key areas of discussion included:

β†’ Development programmes available for new sports entering Kenya's sporting ecosystem
β†’ The real and practical challenges faced by emerging sports federations
β†’ Opportunities to benefit from established programmes and frameworks within the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK)

With Flag Football confirmed as an Olympic sport at LA 2028, the urgency and relevance of this institutional work cannot be overstated. KFAF is committed to ensuring Kenya is not just present but competitive on that global stage.

We are grateful to all parties involved in this engagement and look forward to the continued collaboration. πŸˆπŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ

KFAF HAS LANDED IN MOMBASA. THE COAST CLINIC IS OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY!

Our crew of Technical officials and coaches has touched down at the Coast, and we're working! We are proud to bring the Flag Football Coaching Clinic to Mombasa, and this is a 2-DAY event. πŸ’ͺ

We are joined by Moses Ondeng VP KFAF, whose presence underscores just how significant this Coast expansion is to the federation at the highest level.

A special shoutout to the Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) already flying the flag for American Football on the Coast! TUM's existing programme is proof that the sport has roots here, and this clinic is here to water them and grow the tree even further.

Leading the clinic is Coach Moses WawerΓΊ, serving as both Coach and Referee, bringing the full depth of the sport to every participant across both days.

Over the next two days, universities and communities across Mombasa will get hands-on experience of Flag Football, and will be joining a development and competition pathway with a clear target: competing from September 2026 in both regional and National leagues and tournaments

πŸ“ Location: Mombasa, Coast Region
πŸ“… Duration: 2-Day Coaching Clinic
🎯 Open to: Universities & Communities across the Coast

Coast region the game is here, it is real, and it is growing. Welcome to the movement.

Share this with every sports lover, student, coach, and community leader on the Coast!

Today, we are proud to be working with 4 universities across Central Kenya, bringing the sport of American Football- Flag Football directly to campuses, coaches, and communities that have never experienced it before. This is grassroots development in its truest form.

Leading the charge today is Coach Bahati, supported by two of KFAF's newest and brightest, Bridget and Ivy, both freshly NFL-certified coaches, alongside the experience and steady hand of Erick Onyango-Jatelo, a stalwart of the game in Kenya.
