Eight exceptional teams competed in the Marjolen Nekesa Girls Tournament: Soccer Icons (1st place), St. Monica Queens (2nd), Lusweti Queens (3rd), Greenblades Spass, St. Benedict Lugulu, Maili Saba Queens, Matunda Starlets, and Borderland Queens.

Beyond the cash prizes, trophies, and medals awarded to the top teams, Wecheza celebrated and supported all participants by providing sports bras and sanitary towels—because we know the difference proper gear makes in boosting confidence and comfort.

This initiative reflects our unwavering commitment to athletes' well-being, empowering female footballers both on and off the pitch.

Recently, Marjolen Nekesa alias MJ hosted the second edition of the MJ Girls Tournament in Nangili, Kakamega County, where the MJ Soccer Academy kids opened the tournament.

Through this initiative, MJ is empowering young girls in her hometown, aligning with Wecheza mission of supporting female footballers both on and off the pitch.

As proud partners of the tournament, Wecheza provided sanitary towels and sports bras, further advancing our shared goal of creating opportunities for girls to thrive through football.

Marjolen Nekesa is a talented forward for the Harambee Starlets Kenya’s national women’s football team, and currently plays in the Czech First Division for SK Slavia Praha Ženy SK Slavia Praha

Marjolen’s dedication and humility continue to inspire countless young athletes.

And we at Wecheza are humbled to have partnered with the MJ Girls Tournament as we keep on building communities.
