A talented young person in Mathare has the creativity to succeed—but too often lacks access to the technology needed to develop marketable digital skills.
At the Center for Sports and Growth, we are changing that. Thanks to the generous support of Connection Ubuntu, our computer lab has been equipped with donated computers that will strengthen our economic empowerment programme, where young people gain hands-on skills in photography, videography, and video editing.
This is more than a donation of computers—it is an investment in opportunity, creativity, and brighter futures for young people from under-served communities.
Together, we are turning potential into possibility.

Every conversation can change a life.
Meet Susan, one of our facilitators at the East Africa Cup, using sport to spark honest conversations with young people about drug and substance abuse and crime prevention.
When young people have the right information, safe spaces, and positive role models, they are empowered to make better choices and build brighter futures.
Together, we can raise a generation that chooses purpose over drugs and crime.
Help us amplify this message like, share, and follow our page to support more life-changing conversations through sport.

Every child deserves the chance to grow up healthy, confident, and free from the harms of drugs and substance abuse.
Too many young people face pressure from drugs, violence, and negative influences without having safe spaces to learn, play, and build life skills.
At this year's East Africa Cup, the Centre for Sports and Growth proudly led interactive drug and substance abuse awareness sessions for the third consecutive year.
Using the Purposeful Play methodology, we engaged children through fun, games, and meaningful conversations while introducing this approach to 10 participating organizations equipping more coaches and youth leaders with practical tools to educate through sport.
The result? Hundreds of smiling faces, active participation, powerful discussions, and more organizations inspired to use sport as a platform for positive change.
Every game can teach a life lesson. Every coach can change a life.

World Refugee Day 2026
Children are not born with prejudice they learn friendship before division.
When girls play, learn, and grow together on the same team, differences in nationality, gender, ethnicity, religion, and culture fade away.
Through the Center for Sports and Growth Goals for Inclusion League, we are bringing refugees and host community girls together, creating spaces where teamwork builds understanding, respect, and lasting friendships.
This years World Refugee Day, we celebrate the power of sport to unite communities and create a future where every child belongs. Thanks for joining us.

Every weekend, our Goals for Inclusion community league brings together refugees and local communities through the power of football. ⚽🤝
Discrimination, division, and lack of opportunities continue to affect many refugee families and young people in our communities.
Too often, refugees and locals live side by side without meaningful opportunities to connect, learn from each other, and build trust.
Through our league, we are intentionally creating spaces for inclusion and unity. Every team must include at least 40% refugee players, and coaching roles are shared between refugees and locals.
On and off the field, players learn to solve problems together, support one another, celebrate victories together, and rise again after defeats as one team.
Over time, this initiative is helping reduce discrimination, strengthen social cohesion, and build communities where young people see each other not as “refugees” or “locals” — but as teammates, friends, and leaders of change. 🌍❤️

🌍 Today, on World Environment Day 2026, we are reminded that protecting our environment is a shared responsibility.
In communities like Mathare, poor waste management and pollution continue to affect the health, safety, and future of young people.
Through sport and community action, Center for Sports and Growth is empowering children and youth to become environmental champions by organizing clean-up activities, promoting recycling, and planting trees for a greener future. ⚽🌱
Every small action matters. Together, we can build cleaner neighborhoods, inspire change, and create a healthier environment for the next generation.
💚 Join us in taking action.
🤝 Support our community initiatives through donations, partnerships, and volunteering.
🌍 Because a healthy athlete needs a healthy environment.

Coach Rio has always believed that sport can change lives. But in many of our communities, young people continue to face daily challenges such as drug abuse, violence, exclusion, and lack of guidance. Many community coaches want to help, but often lack the skills and tools to use sport as a platform for education and mentorship.
Together with other partner organizations from Coaches Across Continents, we supported Coach Rio to attend a community coaches and leaders training in Nairobi focused on purposeful play game-based methodology.
The training equipped Coaches with creative ways of using games and sport to educate children and youth on everyday issues affecting their lives while creating safe, inclusive, and supportive spaces for learning and growth.
When we empower one coach, we impact hundreds of young people in the community. Through sport, we are building confident youth, stronger communities, and hope for a better future.
You can be part of this change. Help us continue training and supporting community coaches who are transforming lives every day.
Your donation and support can help us reach even more children and youth through sport. ❤️ (link on bio)
