Look at this picture. A father holding his son up like a trophy, before the boy has ever won one.
That's the same thing Noah Wanyama did for his son, Victor.
Long before Victor Wanyama became the first Kenyan to score in the Champions League, before Celtic, before Southampton, before captaining Harambee Stars β he was just a boy in Muthurwa, Nairobi, kicking a ball around. His father had been a footballer himself, for AFC Leopards and the national team. But Noah didn't just play football β he passed it down. He believed in his sons' dream before the world ever did. Before there was money in it. Before there was fame in it. Just a father, choosing to believe.
That belief raised not one, but four footballing brothers from one home.
That's what real support looks like. It's not clapping after the trophy comes. It's lifting your child up when they have nothing to show yet β just a dream, a ball, and your hands underneath them.
To every father doing that quietly, today and every day β this one's for you.
Happy Father's Day, from all of us at T&E Football Club. π¦
