UGLY SCENES AT ULINZI SPORTS COMPLEX

Fans have stormed the pitch during the KPL playoff 2nd leg between Kariobangi Sharks and Mombasa United after Mombasa were awarded a penalty. The aggregate currently sits at 3-3.
KDF officers had to intervene to rescue a police officer. This is completely unacceptable behavior and has absolutely no place in modern football!

The blueprint for Kenya’s football future is officially here, and the U-23 Emerging Stars are proving exactly why they carry the title of the “Golden Generation.” Fresh off a commanding 4–1 victory over Tanzania in their first-leg qualifier, orchestrated by Captain Kevin Wangaya (Nairobi United), this squad is forged from a perfect balance of battle-tested local talent and elite overseas experience.

A Foundation Forged at the U20 AFCON

This is not a team thrown together overnight. The squad is largely made up of players who featured for Kenya’s U20 team at the 2025 U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt. Head coach Kimani is strategically building on their previous international experience and deep on-pitch chemistry.

Among those retained from that formidable U20 side are , Tusker defender Collins Ochieng, Nairobi United midfielder Kevin Wangaya, and AFC Leopards midfielder Kelly Madada.

The provisional squad elevates its ceiling by integrating a host of young players based abroad, bringing tactical diversity from global leagues.

This includes Celta Vigo-based Aldrine Kibet ( INJURED), ADO Den Haag goalkeeper Caleb Kramer, Cadiz midfielder Jack Onganya, MK Dons’ Brooklyn Kazungu, Enköpings SK’s Paul Osama, and Power Dynamos forward Emmanuel Osoro. They are joined by rising international talents Irad Mshindi, Andreas Odhiambo, and Humphrey Aroko ( INJURED)

At the heart of the Golden Generation is the undeniable strength of Kenya’s domestic leagues. Nairobi United boast the highest representation among local clubs, supplying three crucial players .

Nairobi United brings the formidable trio of Wycliffe Omondi, Captain Kevin Wangaya, and Dan Omalla.
Rounding out the domestic firepower, Kariobangi Sharks, Kakamega Homeboyz, and Migori Youth have contributed two players each, alongside key inclusions like Migori Youth forward Elly Owande, Bandari’s Lawrence Okoth, and Kenya Police forward Oliver Machaka.
