This is the last Harambee Stars squad that played against Rwanda before the suspension by FIFA, then coached by Turkish, Engin Firat .

I want those who were complaining about tribalism in our football to study the list of the players well. A good chunk of the players are Luos and Luhyas. They were not called because the coach is either of the two tribes, but because they merit it.

Please also note that in the starting eleven are James Saruni, Abud Omar, Abdullah Hassan and Kenneth Muguna who are not of the two mentioned tribes but are among the best players we have in our country at the moment.

The same can be said about rugby. The Luos and Luhyas form a good number in the national teams.

A different script is however written about the athletics team. If you think you are a better marathoner than the great Eliud Kipchoge, or a better sprinter than Ferdinand Omanyala, just go challenge them on the track rather sulking about their tribes.

My point is simple... If a given tribe, region or group of people are doing something right, learn rather than complain. Is it about their culture, beliefs and practices? Ask yourself many questions about what makes them unique to that particular thing.

If the Kikuyu nation is good in business... Get a Kikuyu friend and learn why they are doing that thing so well. You will be surprised to learn a lot of things that you didn't even think about.

Complaining will not help you. Learn alafu ujitume.
