A huge thank you to our brothers at Rwanda Police VC for the incredible gesture.
Through their Technical Director, Mr. Philbert Mucyo, they have generously gifted Prisons Kenya Men VC a brand-new set of jerseys and four indoor volleyball balls as a token of appreciation. This comes after our very own Elphas Makuto AKA “The Kitchen Bulb”,whose parent club is Prisons Kenya and currently signed by Rwanda Police,put on an outstanding performance at the recently concluded African Club Championship held in Rwanda.
“The Kitchen Bulb” was definitely cooking throughout the tournament,lighting up the court and leaving defenders in the dark.
This act of sportsmanship and brotherhood truly reflects the spirit of volleyball beyond borders. We are deeply grateful for the support, love, and recognition shown not just to Makuto, but to the entire Prisons Kenya fraternity.
To the Technical Director, the players, fans, and the entire Rwanda Police VC family,asanteni sana for standing with us and for this kind gesture. This is more than a gift; it’s a symbol of unity, respect, and the growth of the game in Africa.

FROM THE KITCHEN TO THE BIG STAGE.
One of our very own, Elphas Makuto, famously known as “The Kitchen Bulb” decided that Rwanda wasn’t ready… and still showed up to cook anyway.
At the recently concluded African Volleyball Club Championship in Rwanda, the man didn’t just play , he SERVED, he COOKED, and he LEFT NO DISHES. Representing Rwanda Police VC, Makuto was out here lighting up courts like a bulb that forgot how to switch off.
Blocks? Locked.
Spikes? Explosive.
Energy? Unlimited.
Opponents? 😅 Still trying to recover.
By the end of the tournament, selectors had no option but to ask, “Who is this guy and why is he everywhere?” and just like that, our very own Kitchen Bulb earned himself a well-deserved spot in the Wafalme provisional squad.
From the kitchen to the continental stage, this is what we call five-star performance with extra spice!
Congratulations, Kitchen Bulb! Keep shining, keep cooking, and don’t forget, once you turn on, hakuna kuzimwa.
