Kgtesol- Teaching English to the speakers of other languages in Kyrgyzstan

Mira Sopubekova and Nurisa Abasova: A monthly KGTESOL meeting of EFL teachers of Aitmatov Rayon took place on April 11.
Student-centered strategies and approaches to teaching speaking skills and techniques were implemented to enhance student involvement and engagement in English lessons. These approaches seek to make teaching more interactive, communicative, and learner-driven.
This lesson was particularly practical and engaging, as the EFL teachers were engaged in micro-teaching. They used the teaching methodologies and strategies that they had learned in our previous sessions to present demo lessons. It was also empowering, as teachers were putting into practice what they learned in actual classes.
The active engagement of the teachers and creative and developmental minds is the source of our pride. With your help, we are still making greater and more efficient English teaching in our area!

On January 24th, Sopubekova Mira and Gulira Momuntaeva successfully conducted a monthly professional development session for English teachers of Aitmatov rayon, Talas region.
Session topics included:
Teaching Writing
Personal Narrative Writing in the EFL Classroom
Using AI tools in English teaching, including MagicSchool and Gemini, to support lesson planning, creativity, and student engagement.
The session was interactive, practical, and focused on real classroom needs. Teachers explored new strategies, shared experiences, and learned how modern tools can make writing lessons more engaging and effective.
A big thanks to all the active and motivated teachers for their participation, questions, and enthusiasm! Together, we continue to grow professionally and strengthen English teaching in our region.

Today, KG TESOL Talas trainer Mira Sopubekova conducted monthly sessions for EFL teachers in Manas rayon.
It was a meaningful and inspiring time of professional sharing and learning together.
During the session, she shared experiences and practical strategies that she has gained through the AUCA MAT program, focusing on two important areas of the EFL discipline:
How to teach writing effectively
Inclusive education in the English classroom
We discussed how to support diverse learners, how to make writing lessons more student-centered, and how inclusive practices help every learner feel seen, supported, and successful.
Learning together makes us stronger.
