Cayman Athletics extends its heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to DaQuana Howell, our lone qualifier for the World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon.

DaQuana will leave the Island today to compete in the Women’s 200m on 7 August, representing the Cayman Islands on the world stage. Qualifying for this prestigious championship is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and outstanding talent.

🚨NATIONAL RECORD🚨

The Cayman Islands’ U18 mixed 4x100m relay team of Jah’Mauri Watkis, Madison Lyn, Talan Blake and DaQuana Howell delivered a record-breaking performance at the 2026 NACAC U18 Championships in Apizaco, Mexico, clocking 44.52 seconds to establish the first Cayman Islands National Record in that event .

The quartet produced an outstanding display of speed and teamwork, lowering the national standard while competing against the region’s top young athletes. Their performance marks another milestone for Cayman Islands track and field and highlights the nation’s promising future in the sprint relays.

Congratulations to Jah’Mauri Watkis, Madison Lyn, Talan Blake and DaQuana Howell on this historic achievement and on proudly representing the Cayman Islands on the international stage.

Talan Blake put together a massive performance in the Boys U18 100m at the 2026 NACAC U18 & U23 Championships in Tlaxcala, Mexico. While he narrowly missed advancing to the final, he represented with determination, heart, and pride on the international stage. Competing against some of the region’s fastest young sprinters is a tremendous achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of his effort.
