The winner of our first Making Waves People’s Choice Award, chosen by you the people, is Karthik Adapa. Congratulations Karthik!

Every gymnast remembers the day they were scared to do something, a backbend, a beam, letting go of the bar, and they did it anyway. That moment doesn't just teach a skill. It teaches a child that fear isn't a stop sign. It's just the last step before doing something they didn't think they could. Coaches spend as much time building that trust as they do building strength. It's slow, patient work, and it's some of the most valuable coaching a young child will ever get.

Every sport your child will ever get involved with starts with the same three things: balance, coordination, and body awareness. Gymnastics is the only sport that trains all three from day one, which is exactly why so many other sports use it as their base. The earlier kids learn to control their bodies during movement, the more confident (and safer) they are in every physical activity that follows.
