DOJO RULES:
1. Greet the other people when you enter the dojo.
2. Hygene is not only a health issue but also a firm discipline education. Keep yourself clean and smell nice. Your aikido clothes should always be clean and tidy.
3. Take all of your jewellery (earings, necklace, ring, etc.) off during the training. They do not pose a threat only for you but also for the people around you.
4. The dojo cleanliness is equivalent to one's personal hygiene. Join the cleaning after the training no matter what your degree is.
5. Participating the little ceremonies before and after the training is important. Every pupil is responsible for being in the lesson on time. If you are late, never interrupt the teacher while showing a technique or explaining something. Wait for the moment which will not disturb anybody and then join the training quietly.
6. Do not leave the training unless you are ill or injured. When you have to go, take permission from the teacher.
7. All the pupils should be ready before the training and sit and wait for the teacher to come 2-3 minutes before the training starts.
8. The sitting style in the working area is SEIZA. Sitting in a cross-legged position or in another position is only possible when injured and permission should be taken from the teacher.
9. Sit on the corner while the teacher shows a technique. Do not keep practising or do not occupy the middle of the working place. Watch the teacher carefully while s/he shows the technique. Do not do things like wiping your sweat or straightening your clothes.
10. If the teacher gives his/her attention to a pupil specially, all the other students should sit down and listen to their teacher carefully.
11. After the teacher's explanation, even if s/he has turned his/her back, do not continue the training without greeting the teacher.
12. In aikido learning is not possible with talk but it is only possible when one is devoted to the learning and works hard. Do not talk during the training.
13. Never wander around during the training, be always in action. If you are waiting for your turn for the technique, sit in the corner in the seiza position and watch the others practising.
14. If you have to ask the teacher a question, go next to her/him and wait for her'him to give you permission. After greeting him/her, ask your question kindly. After the answer, greet the teacher again and turn to your place. Never use the body language to call her/him.
15. Go next to the person you want to work with and after greeting each other start training. Whoever s/he is, never use your body language or call her/him by the name.
16. The ones who start to Aikido after you are Kohai and the ones who started before you are Senpai. Respect your Senpais and help your Kohais.
17. No one except the teacher can teach a technique. Whoever you work with, if the one does mistakes even in the basic moves do not try to explain it by talking, try to show it when it is your turn instead. Help your Kohais.
18. Never argue about how to do the technique right.
19. It is forbidden to come to the lesson drunk.
20. If you get injured or bleed during the training stop immediately. After the necessary steps are taken you can go on.

22. In the martial arts the teacher has a special place. The teacher is the one who teaches you the knowledge which you will use in your whole life time.
23. Aikido is based on harmony. There is no place to fighting in the working place. The aikido school is not a place in which you can satisfy your ego. Aikido is always done with honesty, cooperation and reverence.
24. In the training there are people from different age, gender and power. Even though we should practise with all of our strenght, we should also consider about the pyshical capacity which our partner has.
25. Aikido is not a fighting education. We should be careful not to hurt our partner. Ones injuring is a negative consequence for Aikido.
26. Aikido is a training which you do with your own will and whose teacher you can choose. After choosing you teacher adhere to what s/he demonstrates. If you like another teachers technique, go to that dojo. Do not cause saturninity or trouble in the dojo you train.
27. The teacher has the right to criticise you lifelong. Do not wait for her/him to praise you. If her/his critism is too much for you, change your dojo. It is the best for all.
28. These rules will be established in all of the UAO dojos.
