In early 70th, Ahmad Majed opened his first gym in Beirut near TV7 with a sport lounge that was just 80 m2 . He started training several Karate techniques combining his experience with every new style especially the Karate Goju-kai, and japenese kickboxing with his teacher Gogen Yamaguchi and this game is known today as just Kickboxing
Coach Ahmad trained many Karate styles in 70th such as: Chito
-ryu, Goju-ryu,
Kyokushinkai, Shotokan, with addition to Taekwondo, self defense and the best style was the Goju-kai
At that moment, lebanese was suffering alot from civil war but our will was to stay in our country and not to immigrate as thousands other did, at our club in TV7 in Beirut everything was built under artillery and civil war, hundreds of lebanese young men trained thier just caring for thier future and freedom away from Sectarianism and regionalism
Year 1987: At that year, Ahmad was willing to open a new club as the old one wasn't able to hold more players with daily training up to 9 hours, a new start made, it was a great begining
We wanted to achieve a great goal of our life: A club that gives chance to all who wants to practice kickboxing and to have appropriate place in the class. Banzai Club Beirut, as everyone who know it in 70th and beginning of 80th was a basic center of Judo games with a lounge space of about 400 m2, Ahmad Majed took this club to everywhere from Japan in the east to canada in the west and for more than 24 years the club has shared in hundreds of events representing lebanon in all countries and raising the lebanese flags in time that many lebanese were ashamed from doing so,
One of our greatest club time was when civil war ended at early 90th and we lost many of our students in it, we wanted to honor them with a March through the divided city of Beirut from Verdun to Aschrafieh at Sassine Square then to Hamra, our aim is to say to everyone that Sport makes miracles and especially Martial arts. Our champions, you can find them everywhere: Lebanon, europe, america, australia; they are the real miracles of Lebanon as what they did was everything from nothing, no support just thier patience, will, and sacrifice
Banzai Club in Beirut is well euipped with all appropriate Martial arts euipments for
all ages from 4 years till 60. Classes for new, old players; men and women, public and private classes. Classes is given by Grand Master Ahmad Majed and several assistants
