Lord, on this Martin Luther King Day, I'm reminded of Dr. King's words that faith is taking the first step even when you don't see the whole staircase.

Dr. King lived these words, stepping forward in faith toward justice and equality when the path was unclear, the outcome uncertain, the opposition fierce.

Teach me to have that same courage, to take first steps toward what You're calling me to even when I can't see how it will unfold or where it will lead.

He couldn't see the whole staircase of the civil rights movement, but he took the first step, then the next, trusting You to reveal the path as he walked it.

Help me apply this truth to my own life, to stop waiting for complete clarity before I obey, to move forward on what You've shown me now, trusting You with what's ahead.

Remind me that the most significant movements in history started with someone taking a first step in faith, that change begins when we move without seeing the whole staircase.

Give me courage to take my first step today toward what You're calling me to, honoring the legacy of those who stepped in faith before me.

Let me walk by faith, not by sight, taking the first step even when I don't see the whole staircase, trusting You to guide me one step at a time.
