A silent warrior and a man who's been through ups and downs throughout his life. Suresh Namarathna from Air Force Cycling Team changed the game by taking up his first ever ultra-distance race seven years into his cycling career.

A professional cyclist used to standard distance races, he was bold enough to make that shift to a . A great example of an open mind and an ultra ability to change and adapt.

Coming from Anuradhapura and racing in tropical conditions, he knew he was physically capable of taking on the challenge. But the ups and downs he's faced in his life gave him the experience and the ability to endure, adapt and overcome challenges , then to go all the way and break the record in his first attempt was an amazing achievement

Suresh is an example on how having a positive mindset to change the game can pave the way to opening new doors of opportunity.

අභියෝග වලින් පිරුණු ජීවිතයක්, ඒ අභියෝග අත්දැකීම් බවට පෙරලපු නිහඩ චරිතයක්. සුරේෂ් නාමරත්න, අලුත් විදියට හිතන්න, අලුත් දේ කරන්න බය නොවුණු දක්ෂයෙක්. තමන්ගේ ජීවිතේ මුල්ම කිලෝමීටර 600 පාපැදි තරගයට සහභාගී වුණ සුරේෂ්, පහුගිය ඔක්තෝබර් 28 වෙනිදා, Race The Pearl වාර්තා පොත් අලුත් කළා.

වෘත්තීය වශයෙන් පාපැදිය තෝරගෙන අවුරුදු 7ක් ගතවුණාටත් පස්සේ, කවුරුහරි කිවුවානම් මීට පෙර කවදාවත් කරන්න හිතලාවත් නොතිබුණු කිලෝමීටර 600ක තරගයකට ඉදිරිපත් වෙන්න කියලා බොහෝ දෙනා බොහෝ විට එය ප්‍රතික්ෂේප කරයි. නමුත් සුරේෂ් ට තිබුණු ආත්ම විශ්වාසයත්, අලුත් දේවල් කරන්න තිබුණු මානසිකත්වයත් නිසා, ඔහු තමන්ගේ ජීවිතේ මුල්ම කිලෝමීටර 600 තරගයට ඉදිරිපත් වෙනවා.

තමන්ගේ ගම වුණු අනුරාධපුරයට කිලෝමීටර 200ට වැඩි දුරක් පාපැදියෙන් යන එන නිසා මේ අභියෝගයට අවශ්‍ය කරන ඇගේ හයිය තියෙන බව සුරේෂ් දැනගෙන හිටියා. ඒ ඇගේ හයියත්, ජීවිතේ පුරාවටම ඉගෙන ගත්තු පාඩම් වලින් ගොඩනගා ගත්ත හිතේ හයියත් එකට එකතු කරගත්ත සුරේෂ්, පැය 19න් කිලෝමීටර 600 අවසන් කරලා, තමන්ගේ මුල්ම කි.මී. 600 තරගයේදීම එහි තරග වාර්තාව තමන්ගේ නමට ලියාගත්තා.

වෙනස් දෙයක් කරන්න බය නොවීම තුළින් ජීවිතේ නොහිතූ ආකාරයේ අලුත් දොරවල් විවර කරගන්න පුළුවන් කියන්න සුරේෂ් හොදම උදාහරණයක්. මේ දොරවල් පිටිපස්සේ, තමන් බලාපොරොත්තු නොවූ ආකාරයේ අවස්ථා හැංගිලා තියෙන්නත් පුළුවන්.
