(Dumindu ABEYWICKRAMA, 20 year old world ranked player, Student of Royal College, Colombo 07 won the bronze medal Yesterday at the Kazakstan INTERNATIONAL BADMINTON FUTURE SERIES played in Shimkent, Kazakstan . Came to the semi finals by beating Lan Gabriel Vargas of Philippines 19/21 21/9 21/9 and Akash Singh of India21/17, 19/21, 21/15 in the pre quarter and quarter respectively to lose to Dmitry Panarin at the Semi finals 21/4 , 21/11.)

The WINIT Badminton Club's 2023 season got underway on January 1st, under the leadership of head coach Mr. Indika Nilushan Matharage and with religious ceremonies taking precedence.
