හිතවත් ගාලු දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ ක්‍රීඩක ක්‍රීඩිකාවන්, දෙමාපියන්, පුහුණුකරුවන් වෙතයි,

2026 ගාලු දිස්ත්‍රික්ක චෙස් තරගාවලියට අදාළව වැදගත් යාවත්කාලීන කිරීමක් ගාලු දිස්ත්‍රික්ක චෙස් සංගමය විසින් මෙලෙස දැනුම් දීමට කැමැත්තෙමු.

තරගාවලි සංවිධායක කමිටුවේ පාලනයෙන් බැහැර වූ තත්ත්වයන් හේතුවෙන් මෙවර ශූරතාවලියේ පළමු අදියර වන කලාපීය තරඟාවලි කල් දැමීමට සිදු වූ අතර, එම ගැටලු නිරාකරණය කරමින් නැවත තරඟාවලිය ආරම්භ කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය පසුබිම සකස් කිරීමට අපි අඛණ්ඩව කටයුතු කළෙමු.

මෙම කාලසීමාව තුළ, සමස්ත ගාලු දිස්ත්‍රික්ක චෙස් ප්‍රජාවගේ යහපතට ප්‍රමුඛතාවය දෙමින්, රාජ්‍ය නිලධාරීන් සහ අනෙකුත් පාර්ශවකරුවන් සමඟ වැදගත් සාකච්ඡා කිහිපයක් පවත්වන ලදී.
එම අවස්ථාවේවී ගැටලු නිරාකරණය කර ගැනීමේ උත්සාහයට පෙරට පැමිණ සහයෝගය දැක්වූ සැමට අපගේ ගෞරවනීය ස්තූතිය හිමිවේ. විශේෂයෙන්ම, දකුණු පළාත් ආණ්ඩුකාර මහාචාර්ය සුසිරිපාල මානවඩු මහතා ඇතුළු ආණ්ඩුකාර කාර්යාලයටත්, ලංකා චෙස් සුරැකීමේ සහ සංවර්ධනය කිරීමේ සංගමයටත්, දකුණු පළාත් අධ්‍යාපන දෙපාර්තමේන්තුවේ නිලධාරීන්ටත්, දෙමාපියන්ට සහ මෙම ක්‍රියාවලියට සහය දුන් අනෙකුත් සියලුම පාර්ශවකරුවන්ටත් අපගේ කෘතඥතාව පළ කරමු.

ඒ වගේම 2026 ගාලු දිස්ත්‍රික්ක චෙස් තරගාවලියට අදාළ තවත් සුවිශේෂී ප්‍රගතියක් පිළිබඳව දැනුම් දීමට ලැබීම සතුටකි.

අපගේ ඉල්ලීම පිළිගනිමින්, මෙවර ශූරතාවලියේ දෙවන සහ අවසන් අදියරයන් FIDE ශ්‍රේණිගත කිරීම් යටතේ (FIDE rated) පැවැත්වීමට ශ්‍රී ලංකා චෙස් සම්මේලනය අපහට අනුමැතිය ලබා දී ඇත.
ඒ අනුව, 2026 ගාල්ල දිස්ත්‍රික් චෙස් ශූරතාවලියේ දෙවන සහ අවසන් අදියරයන් FIDE Rated තරඟාවලි ලෙස පැවැත්වෙන අතර, එය අපගේ දිස්ත්‍රික්ක ශූරතාවලියේ ගුණාත්මකභාවය, පිළිගැනීම සහ තරඟකාරීත්වය තවදුරටත් ඉහළ නංවනු ඇත.
මෙය, ගාලු දිස්ත්‍රික්කයේ සියලුම චෙස් ක්‍රීඩක ක්‍රීඩිකාවන් වෙනුවෙන් වඩාත් ගුණාත්මක තරඟාවලි සහ ඉහළ තරඟකාරී අවස්ථාවන් ලබා දීම සඳහා අප ගන්නා අඛණ්ඩ උත්සාහයේම ප්‍රතිඵලයකි.

🏆 තරගාවලිය නැවත පැවැත් වීමට කටයුතු සුදානම් කර ඇත – කලාපීය තරඟාවලි සැප්තැම්බර් 19 සහ 20 දිනවලදී

ඒ අනුව, 2026 ගාලු දිස්ත්‍රික්ක චෙස් ශූරතාවලිය නැවත ආරම්භ කිරීමට හැකි පසුබිම දැන් සකස් වී ඇති බව ගාලු චෙස් ප්‍රජාවට ඉතා සතුටින් නිල වශයෙන් දැනුම් දෙන්නෙමු.

ශූරතාවලියේ පළමු අදියර යටතේ පහත කලාපීය තරඟාවලි හතර පැවැත්වේ:

♟️ අම්බලන්ගොඩ කලාපය
♟️ ඇල්පිටිය කලාපය
♟️ උඩුගම කලාපය

2026 සැප්තැම්බර් 19 සහ 20 යන දිනවලදී පැවැත්වීමට නියමිත කලාප තරගාවලියේ තරඟ ස්ථාන, ලියාපදිංචි වීම්, කාලසටහන සහ අනෙකුත් සංවිධානාත්මක තොරතුරු ඉදිරියේදී නිකුත් කිරීමට පියවර ගැනේ.

මෙම කාලසීමාව තුළ අපගේ ක්‍රීඩක ක්‍රීඩිකාවන්, දෙමාපියන්, පුහුණුකරුවන්, නිලධාරීන් සහ සමස්ත චෙස් ප්‍රජාව දැක්වූ ඉවසීම, වටහා ගැනීම සහ අඛණ්ඩ සහයෝගය වෙනුවෙන් අපගේ හෘදයාංගම ස්තූතිය පිරිනමන්නෙමු.

Galle District Chess Championship 2026

Dear Galle District players, parents, coaches and chess enthusiasts,

The Galle District Chess Association wishes to provide an important update regarding the Galle District Chess Championship 2026.

Following the postponement of the first stage of this year’s championship, the Zonal Events due to circumstances beyond the control of the Organizing Committee, we have been working continuously to resolve the issues and create the necessary conditions to resume the championship.

During this period, we held several important discussions with government officials and other stakeholders, with the interests of the Galle District chess community as our priority.

We sincerely appreciate everyone who came forward to support the efforts to resolve these matters. In particular, we extend our gratitude to Professor Susiripala Manawadu, Governor of the Southern Province, and his office; Lanka Chess Protectors & Developers; officials of the Department of Education – Southern Province; parents; and all other stakeholders who supported this process.

♟️ Another Important Step Forward – Second and Final Stages to be FIDE Rated

We are also pleased to announce another significant development for the Galle District Chess Championship 2026.

The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka has accepted our request to make the second and final stage of the championship FIDE rated.

Accordingly, the Second and Final Stage of the Galle District Chess Championship 2026 will be FIDE rated, adding further quality, recognition and competitive value to our premier district championship.

This is part of our continuing effort to provide higher-quality tournaments and better competitive opportunities for chess players throughout the Galle District.

🏆 Championship Resumes – Zonal Events on 19 & 20 September

We are pleased to officially inform the Galle District chess community that we are now in a position to resume the Galle District Chess Championship 2026.

The first stage will consist of four zonal events:

♟️ Udugama Zonal

♟️ Building the Next Generation of Pairing Arbiters!

The GDCA Pairing Arbiters’ Workshop, Swiss-Manager Training 2026 officially commenced today with nearly 20 enthusiastic participants who are taking their first steps towards becoming the next generation of skilled pairing arbiters in Sri Lanka. 🇱🇰♟️

The five-week online programme is being conducted under the guidance of three experienced arbiters:

♟️ IA Deshan Chamil
♟️ FA Navod Nethsara
♟️ NA Sandeepa Gayashan

Through practical training in Swiss-Manager, the programme aims to strengthen participants’ knowledge and skills in tournament pairing and administration.

At the Galle District Chess Association, we believe that the development of chess is not limited to producing strong players. Quality tournaments require knowledgeable, competent, and confident arbiters behind them.

That is why GDCA continues to invest in education, capacity building, and opportunities for arbiters, contributing not only to the development of chess in Galle but also to raising the standard of chess administration in Sri Lanka.

We wish all our participants a productive five weeks of learning and look forward to seeing many of them serving as capable pairing arbiters in tournaments across the country in the future. 💙♟️
