Casemiro closes in on MLS move ahead of Man United exit... as Brazil star agrees terms with franchise.

Casemiro has agreed personal terms with Inter Miami but LA Galaxy maintain his 'discovery rights'.

The Manchester United midfielder has set his sights on a move to David Beckham's franchise and has worked to adjust his salary demands to fit in with their budget and MLS guidelines.

The Brazilian and his family have been taken by Miami and the prospect of living there, while, on the football side, the prospect of playing alongside Lionel Messi is a huge draw for the 34-year-old.

Miami are now likely to negotiate a compensation fee with Galaxy to take over the rights to sign the player.

It is understood that news of the potential agreement has not gone down well with some of Miami's rival franchises as they once again exert their financial and commercial pulling power.

Beckham's team do not have an open designated player slot to sign Casemiro, meaning his contract will likely be around $1.8million for the first season unless one of the team’s three DPs Messi, Rodrigo De Paul or German Berterame depart.

Casemiro announced he was leaving in January and Daily Mail Sport reported Galaxy's initial interest.

He has enjoyed a stand out campaign finishing strongly under Michael Carrick to the extent that supporters were calling for him to stay one more year.

United are looking to add at least two midfielders this summer as Manuel Ugarte is also expected to depart.

With Manchester City leading the £90m race for United's prime target, Nottingham Forest's Elliot Anderson, the Old Trafford club have held talks over Atalanta's Ederson and Mateus Fernandes of West Ham among others.

Arsenal's Champions League win was FIXED says Madrid mayor in bizarre corruption rant

Arsenal booked their spot in the Champions League final with victory against Atletico Madrid but the Spanish city’s mayor claims that the result was already decided

Madrid mayor Jose Luis Martinez-Almeida has sensationally claimed that Arsenal’s Champions League win against Atletico Madrid was decided by UEFA corruption. The Gunners reached the competition’s final with victory against the Spanish side on Tuesday night.

Bukayo Saka’s goal saw the North London side seal a 2-1 aggregate win after a draw at the Metropolitano last week. And while Arsenal will be celebrating sealing their spot in their first Champions League final since 2006, some in the Spanish capital have been left far from happy.

City mayor Martinez-Almeida bizzarely claimed that the result was already decided, with UEFA ensuring Atletico did not reach the final. Speaking in a sensational rant on Wednesday, he said: “Well look, what I'm saying is that when I saw the draw I thought we'd get Arsenal and I was wrong,.

“We got to play against UEFA. And UEFA has made it clear that they didn't want Atletico Madrid in the Champions League final. It's incomprehensible that they appointed a German referee when Spain and Germany are playing for the fifth Champions League spot.

“Who, other than UEFA, would think of appointing a German referee as both the main referee and the VAR referee? And yesterday there were plays that weren't due to the referee being more or less bad, but in my opinion, due to a predetermined decision aimed at harming Atletico Madrid.”

One decision that left Martinez-Almeida baffled was the call to not award Atleti a penalty for Riccardo Calafiori’s apparent push on Giuliano Simeone. The linesman had already flagged him offside, albeit it was shown on replays that he was potentially on.

Henry: this Arsenal might be better than the invincibles‘; remaining unbeaten is hard
5 hours ago / autty
In the Champions League semi-final on May 5th, Arsenal eliminated Atlético Madrid with a total score of 2-1 over two legs, reaching the Champions League final again after 20 years . In the CBS studio, Gunners legend Henry made no secret of his admiration for this Arsenal .

Just this Tuesday, the team coached by Arteta defeated Atlético Madrid 1-0 in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final , advancing to the final with a total score and remaining undefeated in this season's Champions League so far .

As a legendary figure in Arsenal history and the club's all-time top scorer (228 goals), Henry even believes that this team's performance has surpassed that of the famous "Invincibles" - the Arsenal team that remained unbeaten in the Premier League to win the title in the 2003-04 season.

"When you really look back at everything this team has achieved, you need to take a step back to realize how amazing their achievements are," Henry said on CBS. "We are always talking about the 'Invincibles' of 2004, but what about the feat of this team going all the way unbeaten in the Champions League? This is a completely different level."

He further emphasized that the difficulty of remaining unbeaten in Europe is far greater than in domestic leagues: "In the Champions League, there is almost no room for error. We saw it very clearly in the semi-final against Atlético Madrid. Many people will feel that such a game is simply a nightmare, because you know that they will drag the game into the mud and consume you in their own way. But Arsenal showed patience, they defeated their opponents in their own way, which is more like a psychological chess match."

For this "Gunners" team, Henry believes they are already writing history. As the former top scorer for the French national team (51 goals), he was visibly excited when talking about this Arsenal: "Being able to reach the final unbeaten in the Champions League is in itself a declaration to the world that Arsenal is redefining standards."

"I am first and foremost a fan, and when I see my club interpreting the spirit of North London football in such an elegant and determined way... I will really be moved to tears

Real Madrid 2-1 Alaves: Mbappe and Vinicius score to end hosts' winless run

Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior scored either side of half-time as Real Madrid cut Barcelona's lead at the top of La Liga to six points with a 2-1 win over relegation-threatened Alaves.

Alvaro Arbeloa's side, playing for the first time since being knocked out of the Champions League quarter-finals by Bayern Munich, ended a run of two league games without a win.

But Barca have the chance to reinstate their nine-point lead on Wednesday evening when they host Celta Vigo, with just six games to go.

Real are on course for only their fifth trophyless season this century - 2004-05, 2005-06, 2009-10, and 2020-21 being the only four.

But with Arbeloa's future reportedly uncertain, winning La Liga may be the only way he keeps his job for next season.

It was French striker Mbappe who opened the scoring at the Bernabeu in the 30th minute, with a smart finish for his 24th league goal of the season.

Six minutes into the second half, Brazil winger Vinicius doubled Real's lead. He latched onto Federico Valverde's pass to smash into the bottom corner for his 12th of the campaign.

Alaves halved the deficit with the last kick of the game through strikerTony Martinez netted.

Real still have to travel to Barcelona in May for La Liga's second El Clasico of the season, but are relying on Hansi Flick's leaders to slip up elsewhere.

Up next for Real is a trip to Real Betis on Friday night, while Alaves host Mallorca a day later.

Chelsea 0-1 Man Utd: Struggling Blues suffer another loss as Cunha scores winner.

Chelsea's hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions League took another huge blow as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester United.

Matheus Cunha (43')
Match Report

Matheus Cunha's goal on the stroke of half-time proved to be enough for Michael Carrick's side to solidify third place in the Premier League and leave Liam Rosenior's men further adrift of a return to Europe's elite competition.

Hundreds of Chelsea supporters protested against the clubs owners BlueCo prior to the game as they called for an end to the regime. And those inside the stadium voiced their dissatisfaction come the final whistle with boos that could be heard all around west London.

Chelsea dominated throughout the first-half, and can only be furious at themselves to not have been ahead at the break.

Willian Estevao clipped the outside of the post with a curling effort inside the first quarter of an hour, while the returning Enzo Fernandez spurned an even better opportunity as he shot wide from just outside the six-yard-box.

Up until their opener, United had managed an xG of just 0.03. However, with Wesley Fofana off the pitch after picking up a knock, they capitalised as Bruno Fernandes secured his 18th Premier League assist of the season by finding Cunha whose first time strike nestled into the top corner.

The Blues continued to look the more likely to score in the second period, with Liam Delap seeing his header cannon back off the crossbar just before the hour mark. A near identical chance then fell to Fofana, but he found the exact same result.

By hook or by crook, the unorthodox Manchester United back four that saw stellar performances from Ayden Heaven and Noussair Mazraoui at centre-back held on for a rare clean sheet to take all three points.

The home supporters loudly booed their team at the final whistle, both in disappointment of their lack of finishing touch and the fact they now find themselves 10 points behind United in the Premier League table.

They also remain four points behind fifth-placed Liverpool, having played a game more as their Champions League hopes slowly slip away.

Line-ups
Chelsea XI: Cucurella, Robert Sánchez, Pedro Neto, Cole Palmer, Wesley Fofana, Enzo, Caicedo, Gusto, Liam Delap, Jorrel Hato, Estêvão

Subs: Adarabioyo, Trevoh Chalobah, Garnacho, Lavia, Dário Essugo, Teddy Sharman-Lowe, Andrey Santos, Josh Acheampong, Guiu

Man Utd XI: Casemiro, Luke Shaw, Bruno Fernandes, Mazraoui, Dalot, Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, Senne Lammens, Benjamin Sesko, Mainoo, Ayden Heaven

Subs: Mount, Altay Bayındır, Ugarte, Malacia, Zirkzee, Amad Diallo Traore, Shea Lacey, Tyler Fletcher.
