Amazing FC Close Gap on League Leaders After Dominant Victory Over Eagles FC

Amazing FC delivered another strong statement in the 2025/26 Paynesville Subcommittee Third Division League with an impressive 4-2 away victory over Eagles FC in Round 15 action played today at Barker Fence in the Soul Clinic Community, Paynesville City.

Coming into the encounter with revenge on their minds following a 2-1 first-leg defeat at home to Eagles FC earlier in the season, Amazing FC showed determination, quality and character from the opening whistle to secure a deserved victory in one of the biggest matches of the round.

The visitors started brightly and took an early lead through Hilary Sulonkpala in the 3rd minute, setting the tone for an entertaining afternoon. Eagles FC responded well and found the equalizer in the 24th minute to bring the game level, but Amazing FC refused to slow down. Just before the halftime break, Emmanuel Precious restored the lead for Amazing FC in the 40th minute, giving his side a crucial advantage heading into the second half.

With momentum on their side after the break, Amazing FC continued to press forward and were rewarded with more goals from captain Enoch Peters and Mark Karpehson, while Eagles FC managed to pull one back during the contest. The visitors remained composed and disciplined throughout the match to eventually secure an important 4-2 victory away from home.

The result means Amazing FC have now accumulated 32 points from 15 league matches this season, recording an outstanding run of 9 wins, 5 draws and only 1 defeat. Their consistency throughout the campaign continues to establish them as one of the strongest sides in the Paynesville Subcommittee Third Division League this season.

The victory also keeps Amazing FC firmly in the title race as they currently sit 2nd on the league table, just one point behind league leaders Todd FC, who have 33 points from the same number of games played.

For Amazing FC, the performance against Eagles FC was more than just three points, it was a display of resilience, teamwork and ambition.

After suffering defeat in the reverse fixture earlier in the season, the team responded in impressive fashion with a commanding away performance that showcased their growth and determination to challenge for the league title.

With just three matches remaining in the campaign, the race for the championship is becoming increasingly intense, and Amazing FC will now shift focus to maintaining their momentum as they continue their pursuit of top spot.

Yesterday Watanga Football Club's brand ambassador, superstar JZyNO, paid a courtesy visit to the residence of the Chief Executive Officer, Mr. G. Andy Quamie, in Gbengbar Town, within the Freedom Land Community, Paynesville.

JZyNO extended his well-wishes to the team for their remaining three fixtures in the Liberia Football Association National First Division league.

He was presented with the 2023/2024 championship medal, as he was unable to receive his, since he wasn't in Liberia.

LFA Election Saga Begin as The Liberia Football Association (LFA) 2026 election will return to the Lower Court of Liberia this Friday, May 8 following an Ex post facto challenge filed by FC Fassell CEO, Cassell A. Kuoh.

The Court will hear arguments after Mr. Kuoh petitioned that Liberian law is not ex post facto, meaning a sitting president cannot create a law and then personally benefit from it while in office.

Kuoh contends that the decision allowing a third term for the LFA presidency was enacted under the leadership of President Mustapah Raji. The amendment to the 2018 statute, approved in July of that year, bears the signatures of current LFA President Mustapah Raji and former General Secretary Isaac T.Z. Montgomery. However, Raji was not elected until September 2018, raising questions about why his signature appears on the document before he officially assumed office.

In essence, Kuoh is arguing that Liberian law is not ex post facto: laws apply only prospectively, not retroactively. Therefore, those who enact a law cannot benefit from it themselves while still in power because it is intended to apply to future administrations.
