UNMIL Radio Sports' Editor Danesius Marteh rejects LFA Compensation for Debbah's physical assault as he demands public apology.
UNMIL Radio sports editor Danesius Marteh has rejected a 100 hundred states dollars compensation from the Liberian FA for Debbah’s recent attack against him.
Coach Debbah was recently found guilty by the Liberian football investigative committee for physically assaulting and injuring the UNMIL sports editor.
The LFA special committee which comprised of Executive committee members, Ansu Dulleh and Technical Director, Henry Brown amongst others mandated the head coach to publicly apologize.
While Hundred United states dollars was also provided as compensation for the injury, an amount editor Marteh has strongly rejected.
Sports editor Marteh in an exclusive interview with RCISPORTS Tuesday said the amount was too little to address the physical assault and injury inflicted on him by the Lonestar manager.
According to him, while the unfortunate situation is not about financial settlement, it is important for coach Debbah to pay an appropriate compensation that will deter others from such unruly acts.
The UNMIL Sports editor also want the Lonestar Manager to publicly apologize for his misconduct.

Sports commission owners threaten to disrupt basketball games if......
Sports Commission on Broad street is one of the oldest basketball facility in Liberia owned and manage by the Smith and Tolbert families.
The Smith and Tolbert Families have threatened to eject the Liberia Basketball Association due to government's failure to settle their arears.
Our informer closed to the basketball body said the owners of the facility have repeatedly threatened the basketball leadership on grounds that they have not received their arrears in the tune of fifty thousand United States dollars for the past seven years.
Our source added that the Smith and Tolbert Families have therefore threatened to disrupt any basketball activity if the UP led government does not settle their debts.
Meanwhile, when contacted, Deputy Youth and sports Minister, Henry Yonton confirmed the indebtedness but attributed the situation to budgetary constraints.
Yonton added that despite the threats, they are in talks with the families in order to amicably resolve the situation.
He expressed confidence that the ongoing negotiation with the families will birth fruitful results for the development of basketball across the country.

Liberia's biggest stadium, SKD sports complex fully completed after nearly five years of renovation works:
At longed last, renovation works at the Samuel Kanyan Doe sports complex in Paynesville City have successfully been completed after nearly three years.
It can be recalled, In July 2013, the Chinese government approved the funding of US$18 million for the reconstruction of the stadium for the 2nd time after similar works were done in September 2005 and completed in July 2007 valued at 7.6 million United States dollars.
The project is in fulfillment of a bilateral agreement signed on June 24, 2011 between the Liberian government and China regarding the maintenance of the SKD sports complex, the elevator at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and facilities of the University of Liberia Fendall Campus.
Speaking to Reporters following a tour of the facility Wednesday, Youth and sports Minister, Saah N’tow announced that the project has successfully been completed in accordance with the agreement.
Minister N’tow said the VIP seats have been increased while the playing pitch, lighting system, digital scoreboard and bathrooms, among others have also been improved.
He added that his leadership will work along with the executive mansion to decide the official date for the dedication ceremony.
Also speaking, the LFA president Musa Hassan Bility praised the government for the project and the continuous support given his leadership over the years.
He also used the occasion to dismiss reports in some quarters that the President Sirleaf WAFU tournament has been moved to Accra, Ghana.

Athletics delegation wins four medals to prove supremacy amidst government's refusal to support the team:
Despite failure to support the athletic delegation, the Athletics Lone star has won four medals in the just ended ECOWAS Senior and Junior Competitions.
It can be recalled a 12 men delegation recently took a loan and traveled to Conakry, Guinea by road to represent the country in the West Africa Region II Senior Championships and the ECOWAS Junior tournament.
Following tense competitions, Kadmiel Enders won the men’s high jump gold medal for Liberia on Sunday, May 14 to mark the country’s 2nd athletics gold.
While on Friday, May 12, Richard Mayango was given a silver medal when he finished 2nd in the Shot Put Junior men Final, while Lucy Massaquoi received a bronze medal for becoming 3rd in the 1500m Junior women final.
On Saturday, May 13, Nancy Saah became the 3rd highest jumper in a high jump competition to receive another bronze medal to mark one of the most successful athletics campaigns for Liberian Athletics.
However, Athletics Coach Samuel Cooper has attributed the ‘gold medal’ to dedication and the Unification Day’s celebration in Liberia.

Soltiamon Alumni and Former students storm Myrtle Beach through a sports festival to promote UNITY:
The Alumni and former students of the Soltiamon Christian school system on 21th street under the banner Paragon of Camaradie (Soltiamon buddies) on Monday stormed Myrtle Beach on the Roberts field highway to promote unity through a sporting festival.
The program which aimed at reuniting them brought together graduates and former students of the soltiamon Christian school system on 21st street in a grand sports jamboree.
Addressing a cross section of young people at the program on Monday, the chief organizer of the event, Bill Caranda revealed that the grand celebration was to reawaken the bond among the students and promote unity.
Caranda explained that for too long the students have been apart while the Alumni Association has been dormant as such it was important to bring back the spirit of togetherness.
He noted that despite the challenges, it is important to stay engaged with these Alumni and former students who have progress into different professions for the betterment of the institution and the society at large.
Also speaking, the president of the group, Eric Jones commended the organizers for such a successful event while he challenged his colleagues to prioritize unity in order to help seek the welfare of others.
Jones emphasized that if the alumni and former students of Soltiamon can unite under a single umbrella, they will help to resolve critical problems affecting members and the nation.

Wilmot Smith eyes Legislative seat as he embarks on Jehovah witness campaign in Montserrado District 13.
A Liberian football stakeholder, Wilmot Smith has embarked on a Jehovah witnessed campaign in his quest to replace Montserrado District 13 Representative, Saah Joseph.
Smith who is the president of Georgia FC believes that the District has seriously been lacking behind in developments as such it is important for the eligible voters to seek an alternative through his election.
According to him the lack of basic social services and ill representation in District 13 are critical factors that he should be given a chance to improve the livelihood of his people who have struggled for too long.
Smith also differed with the credit given to the incumbent law maker that he is an Ebola Hero, something he said can only be attributed to ill representation for a law maker instead of improving the health system through adequate allotment will reduce himself to an ebola fighter.
Wilmot Smith who is also the former head of the Bureau of Concession and based in the United States emphasized that despite the challenges, he has embarked on a door to door campaign to help seek reform.
He believes that with the overwhelming support so far from residents of the District, he will become victorious in the pending 2017 Representative election and ensure that the District 13 gets on pal with other communities.
He was speaking over the weekend when he presented ten (10) thousand Liberian dollars and set of brand jersey to Block F after beating Block E 2-1 of Topoe village to become the champion of the Topoe Village Active sports Association organized tournament.
The Representative aspirant who has been in the district with series of donations said the ongoing initiatives are part of efforts to help promote and empower young people who constitute vast majority of the country’s population.

Basketball Association slaps basketball couple with suspension for unruly behavior but LPRC Oilers sports Association challenges:

The Liberia Basketball Association has with immediate effect suspended player Jethro Bing for one season and his wife Jucelia Bing indefinitely.
The basketball leadership suspended player Jethro Bing for instructing his wife not to leave sports commission and for raining insults on center referee A.B freeman after she was injected.
The release added that the misconduct exhibited by the basketball couple Jethro and wife Jucelia Bing led to the premature end of the 2017 knockout semifinal match between Barrolle and LPRC Oilers which grossly violates article 7 section 1.9 and article 3 section 9 of the basketball statue.
The Liberia Basketball Association also fined LPRC sports Association 30 thousand Liberia Dollars in line with the basketball couple misbehavior.
Meanwhile, the vice president of LPRC Oilers Sports Association Eddie Harris has termed as unfair the suspension of his player from all basketball activities in and out of the country.
Eddie Harris challenged the suspension and denied the LBA report that player Jethro Bing and his wife disrupted a basketball match at the opened air sports commission.
Harris said he finds it difficult that the wedded basketball players will get involve in a misconduct.
He said the judgment of basketball officials is a clear indication that the game is going nowhere in Liberia.

Cllr. Gould finally laid to rest:
.............as Liberian stakeholders stomp the home going.
The President of the Liberia National Old Timers Association and Mighty Barrolle Board Chairman, Cllr. Theophilus Gould has finally been laid to rest in his home City Buchanan.
It can be recalled, Cllr. Gould borne on April 2, 1956 died April 7 at the Saint Joseph Catholic hospital in Congo Town at 61 yrs due to heart attack.
Liberian stakeholders from cross section of the country trooped to Buchanan over the weekend to paid final tribute to the renowned lawyer and football icon.
Speaking at the funeral service, the chief patron of sports, President Sirleaf expressed regret over the sudden death.
President Sirleaf emphasized that the fallen Liberian lawyer will be missed for his dedication and passion in the ex*****on of justice.
While LFA president, Musa Hassan Bility in a tearful mood extended words of condolence to the bereaved family urging them to take solace in the Almighty.
Mr. Bility added that the Alpha Old timers association will work along with partners to design a memorial to celebrate his legacy as a passionate football lover who risked his life to promote the game.
Meanwhile, Alpha Old timers built a modern tomb valued at a thousand United States dollars.

Liberian International, Abu Razard Kamara nets in his 3rd goal out of four matches to book the 2nd place for his club.
Ferronikeli striker, Abu Razard Kamara has netted in his 3rd goal to push his side to 2nd place on the Kosova Super liga in Europe.
Striker Kamara who just joined the club from VSV united in the Laos league with the golden boots recorded his 3rd goal out of four league games.
His side beat Trepca Mitrovice 3-1 to climb a step on the table moving from 3rd to 2nd place.
The Liberian international made a brilliant finished in 33rd minute of the 1st half to give his side the opener and made a brilliant finish in the 61 minute to seal his team much anticipated victory.
The result sees Abu Kamara recording his 3rd goal out of four matches while Ferronikeli has now climbed 2nd place with 55pts out of 26 games.
However, the Liberian prolific striker has attributed his performance to hard work and dedication.
Kamara noted that since he joined the club, he has been working tirelessly to ensure that he makes a difference in the ongoing Kosova super liga.

Sensational LPRC Oilers Basketball club has reclaimed the basketball championship after a superb 73 – 70 points victory against arch rival Mighty Barrolle.
The Oilers narrowly beat their opponent Monday night in a tension packed see saw basketball match to clinch the giant size trophy at the jammed packed sports commission on Broad street.
The victory marks LPRC Oilers 4th trophy in five years after snatching the crown in 2012, 13, 14 and 15 respectively to become the highest carrier in contemporary Liberian basketball.
Presenting the trophy, the basketball president and vice president, Rufus Anderson and Edwin Fahnbulleh thanked the participating teams especially the two finalists for the excellent show down.
Anderson and Fahnbulleh also recognized the efforts of LPRC Oilers for becoming the champion of the 2017 edition noting that the leadership remains committed to the development of the discipline throughout the country.
However, the head coach of LPRC Oilers, Ignatius Moore expressed joy while he rained praises on his players and the defeated coach of Barrolle Assad Fadel attributed his side loss to the misuse of opportunities by his players.
Meanwhile, Bushrod Bull crushed Harbel Pointers three times in the best out of five fixtures to win the 2nd division title while Desert Ladies beat Timberwolves 46 - 43 to be crowned as the female champion.
