NLA "Gamblers" Hit Jackpot, Book Grand Final Spot After Penalty Shootout Drama

The National Lottery Authority - Liberia (NLA) remarked, "If they gamble for a living, they might as well gamble for a trophy too," and their gamble paid off.

The National Lottery Authority (NLA) took a chance and triumphed over the Liberia Airport Authority (LAA) "Air Stripe" to secure a spot in the Grand Final of the 2026 Intra-Governmental League.

After 90 minutes of goalless tension and a brief "airport delay" caused by a major altercation at the SKD Sports Complex in Paynesville.

Against LAA "Air Stripe," the score remained 0-0 in regular time. Then the SKD added some extra drama with a significant brawl.

The referee declared, "We’re not flying today," and proceeded directly to penalties.

The "Gamblers" remained composed under pressure and emerged victorious with a 4-3 win on penalties, sending the "Air Stripe" team back to the terminal.

Next stop: Grand Final.

The winner of the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MYS) "Sports Bureau" versus Liberia Petroleum Refinery Corporation (LPRC) "Fuel Tankers." One side boasts youthful energy, the other a full tank.

NLA just hopes their luck doesn’t run out.

Moral of the story: Never bet against those who print the tickets.

LPRC "Fuel Tankers" Are Running on Full

- And They've Just Drained CBL's Account!

The kickball team of the Liberia Petroleum Refinery Corporation (LPRC) has triumphantly advanced to the Grand Final of the 2026 Intra-Governmental League.

They delivered a resounding 9-0 defeat to the Central Bank of Liberia right at the SKD Sports Complex on Friday.

It seems CBL attempted to wield their favored tool, "Currency," to purchase fuel for the generator that keeps their safe operational.

While CBL's generator sputtered with cries of "low balance, low balance," the Fuel Tankers were scoring home runs as if they had endless diesel in their legs. 9-0. Cashless and clueless.

With this victory, LPRC has officially secured the first spot in the Grand Final.

Invitation sent. "We're coming with a full tank."

CBL, on the other hand, might need to consider if kickball is tax-deductible.

2026 Intra-Governmental League "DRAMA"

- MYS TELLS NPA: "GO BACK AND COUNT CONTAINERS!"

The "Sports Bureau" of the Ministry of Youth and Sports(MYS) told the "Port Boys" of the National Port Authority (NPA) that football is not their job description in Government.

Host team MYS did the talking on the field too, after 2-0 win over NPA in the 2026 Intra-Governmental League on Thursdays, 24 July.

Translation: "Pack your boots, go back and fix the economy."

With that loss, the Port Boys are officially out of this year’s tournament.

Meanwhile Minister Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah's MYS has sailed straight into the Semi-Finals.

Moral of the story: Stay in your lane. Or learn to kickball.

The Aviation Authority Warned: "The "Air Strip" is NOT for regulating "Current"

The Liberia Civil Aviation Authority has declared the "Air Strip" a NO go Zone for "Electricity" regulators.

On Wednesday, the Liberia Civil Aviation Authority delivered a powerful message at the SKD Sports Complex by defeating the Liberia Electricity Regulatory Commission 5-3 in a full 90-minute quarter-final clash in the 2026 Intra-Governmental League.

The LCAA, returning as a "Best Loser," transformed their opportunity into a Semi-Final ticket, while LERC's inaugural journey in the IGL concludes here.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports "Sports Bureau" kickball team has secured a spot in the Semi-Finals of the 2026 Intra-Governmental League.

A 4-3 home run win over Liberia Civil Aviation Authority (LCAA) on Wednesday saw the Ministry of Youth and Sports "Sports Bureau" build their own stadium right on the "Air Strip."

The runway is clear. Next stop: Semi-Finals.
