Liberian Midfielder Kafumba Trawally Makes Strong Statement in Canada with Standout Summer Campaign

MONROVIA, LIBERIA — Liberian young midfielder Kafumba Trawally is continuing to make significant strides in his football development in Canada, following an impressive summer campaign that saw the talented youngster collect multiple individual honors while competing against experienced and older players.

Trawally, who plays youth-level football in Canada for Van City Pro Academy, an associate of Spanish club Villarreal CF, used the off-season to test himself in several competitive tournaments, delivering performances that highlighted his growing confidence, technical ability and competitive mentality.

His summer campaign began with All Star FC in the BC Muslim Soccer Association (BCMSA) Mosque Cup, where Trawally played a key role in helping his team navigate the playoffs and ultimately lift the championship trophy. His individual contribution did not go unnoticed, as he was named Best Young Player of the Tournament, an award that underlined his impact despite competing in a highly competitive environment.

Trawally then represented Team Mexico through All Star FC at the BCMSA Nations Cup, competing in the Open Men’s Premier Division 2, the tournament's second-highest division. Playing against a more physically mature and experienced group, the Liberian midfielder again stood out, earning the MVP award for Division 2.

The youngster's busy summer continued with his club side, Surrey FC, at the inaugural Qualico Cup preseason tournament. Trawally helped Surrey FC finish second overall, while also claiming Match MVP honors during the competition.

Across the three tournaments, Trawally's summer was defined not only by trophies and individual awards, but by his willingness to compete against older and more experienced footballers.

For a young Liberian player developing thousands of miles from home, the summer provided an important platform to demonstrate his potential and gain valuable experience ahead of the new season.

Trawally has also previously had the opportunity to go on trial with Villarreal CF in Spain, giving him valuable exposure to a European football environment and adding another important chapter to his developing career.

With three competitions, a championship medal, a second-place finish and multiple individual awards behind him, Trawally now turns his attention to the upcoming season with renewed confidence.

For Kafumba Trawally, the message from this summer is clear: the work is paying off, the competition is getting stronger, and the young Liberian midfielder is ready for the next challenge.
