It will be a battle of teammates, captains, and district pride this afternoon at the Momo Taweh Sports Stadium in Robertsport, as two familiar faces prepare to go head-to-head in the opening of the 2026 Grand Cape Mount County District League.

The highly anticipated encounter will feature Mighty Garwula KC teammates and sisters-in-sport Nafesatu Sombai and Ramatu Sherman, who will temporarily put their club relationship aside as they lead opposing districts into what promises to be an intense and mouthwatering showdown.

Sombai, now wearing the captain’s armband for Commonwealth District, will face her Mighty Garwula teammate and captain, Ramatu Sherman, who will lead the Garwula District side.

The clash presents an intriguing storyline: two players who have fought together under the same Garwula colors will now find themselves on opposite sides, each determined to lead her district to victory and claim the early bragging rights.

Both Sombai and Sherman have been instrumental in Mighty Garwula KC’s campaign and played key roles in the club’s impressive run to third place in the recently concluded Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF) Cape Mount Sub-Association League.
But today, club loyalty takes a back seat.

With the district league officially getting underway, the two captains will have their leadership, composure, and competitive spirit tested against someone who knows their game perhaps better than anyone else.

Who will command the court? Who will take the armband—and the bragging rights—home?

All roads lead to Momo Taweh Sports Stadium this afternoon for what could be one of the most fascinating captain-versus-teammate battles of the 2026 Grand Cape Mount County District League.

LKF Paynesville Sub-Association Mourns Death of Club Player

A wave of shock and sadness has swept through the kickball community following the death of Saydee KC captain Pauline Forkpa, a key player in the Liberia Kickball Federation (LKF) Paynesville Sub-Association Third Division.

Forkpa, according to family sources, passed away on Wednesday morning, August 26, 2026, following a short illness.

The late Captain Pauline Forkpa was regarded as a true leader, fighter, and inspiration to many young athletes in Paynesville. Her commitment on and off the pitch made her an important figure within her club and the wider kickball community.

Before joining Saydee KC, Forkpa served as a pitcher for Reform KC, where she also demonstrated her leadership and competitive spirit.

Following news of her passing, the LKF Paynesville Sub-Association expressed its deepest condolences to the family, teammates, friends, and supporters of the late captain.

In its message of sympathy, the Federation mourned the loss of a dedicated athlete and extended its deepest sympathy to Saydee KC and the entire family of the late Pauline Forkpa.

“Pauline, your dedication, sportsmanship, and love for kickball will forever be remembered in our hearts.”

Her passing leaves a painful void in the Paynesville kickball community, as teammates, opponents, officials, and supporters remember a player whose passion and leadership made a lasting impact.
