🚨📝 𝗕𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗚: 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗙𝗜𝗥𝗠𝗘𝗗 new rules for the 2026 World Cup!

• 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘄-𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 (𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀): If a player deliberately delays the restart of play, the throw can be given to the opposition.

• 𝗚𝗼𝗮𝗹-𝗸𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗱𝗼𝘄𝗻 (𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀): Also applies to deliberate attempts to run down the clock and can result in a corner being awarded.

• 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲-𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝟭𝟬 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀): Substituted players have 10 seconds to leave the field at the nearest point. If they fail to do so, the substitute cannot enter the field for at least one minute and the team must continue with 10 players.

• 𝗢𝗳𝗳-𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 (𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲): Players who are treated by the physio must stay off the field for 60 seconds. There are some exceptions, including for goalkeepers, injuries and if the opponent is booked or sent off.

• 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵𝘀: Any player covering their mouth in a confrontational situation with an opponent may be sanctioned with a red card.

• 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱: If VAR can make sure that a corner has been correctly awarded, but this must be done quickly and before the restart. Does not apply to wrongly awarded goal-kicks.

• 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘆𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗱: Players sent off for two cautions can have the second booking checked - but there will be no reviews for potential second yellows.

Mighty Gedeh Academy has suspended players Alvin Kannah ( #16) and Mighty Tejan for two weeks, effective June 1–14, 2026, due to disciplinary issues and failure to meet team standards. The club says the suspension is intended to encourage accountability and personal growth while maintaining the academy's commitment to discipline and professionalism.

Iniesta coaching journey has kicked off with UAE second tier club Gulf United FC.

The team started as an academy in 2019, but are currently playing in the UAE First Division League, after achieving back-to-back promotions from the UAE Third Division and UAE Second Division in the 2022 and 2023.

The club is known for developing and nurturing young talent with a focus on long term development.

Liberia head coach Mohammed Adil Erradi has named his squad for the international friendlies with Sierra Leone.

The first leg takes place at the Southern Arena in Bo City on 6 June and the second leg is in Paynesville at the Samuel Kanyon Doe sports complex in Paynesville on 9 June.

LFA New Executive Committee Holds First Meeting, Approves Committee Leadership

The Liberia Football Association’s (LFA) newly elected Executive Committee (EXCO) convened its first meeting on Wednesday, 27 May, marking the start of its next four-year cycle and delivering several key decisions aimed at developing the game at all levels.

The meeting was chaired by LFA President Mustapha I. Raji, under whose leadership the executive leadership roles were confirmed. Mr. Sekou W. Konneh continues in his role as First Vice President, with Mr. Saye-Taayor Adolphus Dolo as Second Vice President, and Mrs. Jodie M. Reid-Seton as Third Vice President.

During the session, EXCO approved the appointments of various standing and ad-hoc committee members who will serve for the duration of the four-year tenure.

Key committee leadership appointments include:

• Finance Committee: Hilary Sackie (Chairman)

• Women's Football Committee: Jodie M. Reid-Seton (Chairperson)

• Marketing & Sponsorship Committee: Amos B. Tweh

• Competitions Committee: Tickly D. Monkoney, Jr. (Chairman)

In addition to making key administrative decisions, the meeting served as a briefing opportunity to fully update new EXCO members on the current operations, ongoing initiatives, and latest developments at the LFA.

In his closing remarks, President Raji congratulated all the members on their election to the committee. He emphasized the importance of a unified front, calling for a strong collaborative effort from everyone involved to drive the growth and development of Liberian football over the next four years.
